Don't know about Bass but my lad and me had a decent ale apiece in the Market Tavern a couple of weeks ago and it was £1.80 a pint, cost pretty much twice that in Ely for the same sort of thing.

Median Base Salary: £21,000 [/quote] That's gone up by a 3rd in not so long & considering we've been doing Austerity for the past 8yrs & just a few years ago S-O-T & South Wales were the poorest paid in Britain. Does this ring true!?!

True, not that much work outside of Cambridge itself either unless you want to join the Eastern Europeans in the fields picking letttuces for a relative pittance. It's all the computer/software types that bump the prices up I think. Most I've paid for a pint in Ely was £5.50 two years ago, more fool me I suppose :/

Hoegaarden, which is generally pretty expensive anyway I suppose but that was a 10% increase on the previous year, so fuck knows what it'll be now. With this reply I'm assuming 'Pharma' is a beer of sorts and I'm not missing summat? It's not a name I recognise :/

We were very high up in a table of the best places in Britain to start a business a few years ago because of the proximity to everywhere else in the UK, the amount of educated people in the area (because of the number of universities around here) and the bargain-bin cost of office space.
Maybe a lot of businesses made a note of that. You only have to look at the changes in Hanley to see that we’re a city on the up.

Bloody hell Bath you're wrong again. I couldn't remember the surname so I couldn't ask the old dear if she knew them. The can you remember a bloke who lived across the road, worked at the pit and had a right bastard for a grandson didn't ring any bells for her
