Reading the Huddy thread, the thought occurred to me that I am not a football fan. I don't ever think about George Best, Pele, Marradonna, Johan Cruyff, Eusebio, let alone Ronaldo, Messi, or Neymar, unless it's in the context of Stoke City. On the other hand, I often find myself thinking about the likes of Sir Stan, Ser Shtan, Dennis Smith, Banksy, Huddy, Steino , Thorne, Hoekstra, Fuller, Huth, etc.
Which brings me to the question - If Stoke went Bankrupt and dissolved with no "continuation " team ( gone, nothing), what would you do as far as football goes?
Me? I never watch a game that does not have a Stoke angle ( if x team lose against y team Stoke will be promoted, etc). So I imagine I would probably glance at the tables 2/3 times a season, but essentially football would not exist for me.

Same here GB. If another footy game happens to be on in a bar I may give it an occasional glance, but even England Games, can't really get excited.

I used to call myself a football fan but now I hardly switch a game on that does not involve Stoke
Regularly watch my local team Dereham town But I struggle with football in general can't bring myself to watch the overpaid diving cheating tossers

Stoke fan first. Coaching kids football second. Cricket fan third. Football fan fourth.
I rarely watch a full game on telly these days if it doesn't involve Stoke although I will channel hop and watch bits and bobs......

I really struggle 90% of the time to watch a game that doesn't involve stoke. That's why last night I watched the bt sport goals show instead of a particular live game. I like goals and I like action in snippets which probably makes me a football fan but I couldn't sit and watch a premier league game (for instance) through for 90 minutes with 2 random teams playing. Not a chance.

I watch more live Rugby Union than football these days. Stoke are my only concern when it comes to football.

Absolute zero interest in any of the games that get aired on Sky or BT etc. Unless it involves Stoke I really do not give a fuck.
I used to watch the Champions League when I was young and kind of cheered on the English sides but the older I grew the more I laughed at their failures and closer I grew to Stoke City FC in its entirety.
I do enjoy England games, and if you ever get the opportunity to go an away game or a game at a big tournament then do it. Its a great experience and it might help you support your country a little more if you need some inspiration!

Obviously a stoke fan first and foremost. However i can appreciate other teams and goals, even against stoke. If someone scores a great goal against us, or a match saving tackle, i can appreciate the quality football i have witnessed, obviously when its a stoke player performing that act i appreciate it a lot more. Same with a team performance, if a team is far better than us, sometimes you just have to applaud the standard of football and hope that one day stoke can do that to a team. unless its united or Arsenal, they can fuck off.

I love watching stoke. I enjoy the premier league for the excitement but the championship has alot less quality than the prem and doesn't have the same passion and desire that it used to. Its a bit boring.

I love football and go out of my way to watch and experience as much as possible. I will happily tune in to a League Two game or go and watch a local non-league side.

STOKE fan. Dont really watch much other football even England does me noggin in Because i live and die by what Stoke do when i discovered ice Hockey in 1989 i made a conscious decision to invest in the Sport not a team. I have an attachment to certain teams and like to see them doing well but dont lose any sleep like i do with Stoke Deeside Dragons, only 3 miles from where i live and first team i saw (V Humberside Seahawks) Telford Tigers, born in Wellington Telford Altrincham Aces who played in the most amazing rink, a wooden converted Church Hall like building. So Stoke Fan/Ice Hockey Fan

Pretty much the same as GB, I've been to live games not involving Stoke and not really enjoyed them much.
If Stoke existed in any form or at any level I'd probably do what I've always done and if I couldn't get to a game I'd try and find a way to get commentary at least.
If Stoke ceased to exist I'd have a lot of free weekends and would probably spend the time playing golf.
England I do try and watch on TV but it's nowhere near the same.

100% both. If Stoke went bump tomorrow I'd pick a League 1 team and support them.
It wouldn't be the same but what else are you going to do? Would have to have a few mates with me though.

I'll watch any football match. Trying to complete the 92 and visit as many other football grounds as possible.
Might sound bad, but I think prefer watching games that don't involve Stoke. I can enjoy Swindon v Bury regardless of the result, because I don't care who wins. However, I get horrendously nervous watching us play, to the extent where it's a mentally and physically draining experience.

Both. If there's a match on tv that I can watch I will tend to watch it.
It is something I've noticed in a lot of Stoke fans, that it's Stoke and nothing else. Even down to the reserves doesn't come into thought. I don't get it but each to their own!

Only ever watch MotD now if Stoke have won, or at least been involved in a good game, ie, last Sat'day V the shit.....and even then, I usually record it (cuz I'm out on a Sat'day night) and skip forward to the Stoke game!!! I have sky, but I don't subscribe to sky sports, cuz I honestly don't care to watch another team!!! Then there's people on here who go on about players who we may be interested in......I ain't got a clue who most of them are, and yet there's some on here saying he's either "Class" or "shite"??? Nah, for me, it's all things Stoke, and Stoke only!!!

I'll keep an eye on any football that's on telly but I just love going to games more than anything. I'll get excited about going to any organised game of footy at pretty much any level if I get the chance (although sadly that's pretty rare these days). I'd happily forgo, say, a big Champions League game on the box to go to some rickety local ground for a proper match "under the lights".

Footy was my passion, everything used to be about football. If any game was on, I'd watch it, read anything to do with the sport. I'd know pretty much everything that was happening. Now, I couldn't even tell you any scores or when games have played or about to be played. I've lost all interest, even in the national team that's including any tournaments.

I'm very much a football fan who supports Stoke. I've got no idea who I'd support if Stoke ceased to exist. Market Drayton Town probably as I won't travel any great distance to see a game. I love football on tv and streams and just enjoy a good performance even from a team I don't like. I used to detest Liverpool as a youngster because they seemed to win everything every year but I really enjoy some of their football nowadays. I've found I've become a bit elitist in our Premier League era back in the day I knew about most players who played throughout the leagues now I haven't got a clue below Premier League level sad but true.
