An odd one. Had one great run and a shot which needed a terrific save, but I'm still wondering where he fits into all of this. He's playing as the centre forward, or maybe a false 9, currently - will that continue?
How do others see it?

Needs the ball to feet, looked a bit lost at times today, but I'd say it wasn't down to him, more the system and the long balls aren't what he is used to..

I think that if he stays injury free he'll get better and better the more he settles in.
For me it's rare to see a player from overseas settle in straightaway and find consistency, too much in their lives has changed and it takes time to get used to things.

To be fair he's looked as settled as Arnie and Shaqiri have/did for most of their time at Stoke after only 3 games.
I think it's hard to judge him too harshly based when you consider the opposition he's played against.
The front 3 showed signs that they can be as fluid as was surely intended by Hughes when he came up with the idea today, so I'm feeling pretty optimistic he'll have a good season here

He was three seconds ahead of Joe Allen in his thinking. Which Joe messed up and led to their goal. I reckon if we can get the team on the same wavelength as him we could have a real coup. He did everything right to force that fantastic save. But yes.. I agree, there is a lot of work to do yet.

Worked hard but desperately poor on the ball.
And he looks so sluggish too.
Lucky to start the next game.

I think he'll shine when he has a bit more space and yet in one moment he nearly won the match for us only being denied by a world class save.

Did superbly well to break and then failed to play the easy ball, lost all momentum and left us vulnerable with a poor ball. Still think he's got plenty to offer, but looks like he needs some time to settle and find full fitnes.

Yes I'm afraid he was responsible for their goal, dwelled on the ball to long and played Allen a poor ball.

Another one of the thousands of classic comments by Bayern He looked dangerous could have scored except for a breathtaking save, you have to consider who we were playing against before writing him off Going to be a key player this season

He held on uselessly to the ball when joe was free and in acres of space just to showboat his skills Then he passed the ball to joe, who had just busted a lung, when he was marked Anyone having the slightest idea what football is all about has to concur with my reading of that particular incident which gave rise to their second goal for which jese has to carry a huge share of the blame

Jese carried the ball well but shoulda played it to Joe Allan a couple of touches before he did, by the time he passed it, Allan had no time. Bit of a cock up that. Jesé will come good though, think he's shown enough vs Arsenal and Man Utd, bit anonymous vs West Brom mind you.

He's not quite as quick as I'd like and his control wasn't quite there today but I've seen enough that tells me once his fitness is up to speed he's got good control and willingness to be direct that will cause the opposition all sorts of problems.

Other than his goal against Arsenal I've not been particularly impressed. Got a bit of class about his play but gives the ball away too much for my liking.

Once he's up to speed I think he'll be top notch. Clearly has an eye for goal. The 3 games he's played in couldn't be tougher where time and space are concerned
Arsenal - they had 75 percent possession WBA - ultra defensive no space. Man U - good defence and again we didn't have a huge amount of possession.

Not sure he's a centre forward or even this fabled false 9. I think we lack a genuine outlet when either he or Choupo play up front.
It will be interesting to see this again against sides in and around us, where we will have more of the ball in midfield. Not sure which way it will go from here.
After yesterday though, I hope we don't move Choupo from wide left, because for me he just has to stay there.

Jesé didn't drop Allen in it at all, he had plenty of time to lay the ball off, or whatever, but chose to fanny about and got caught.

I wasn't bothered so much with Allen losing the ball, more pissed off to his reaction to it. If Imbula had done that he would've been fined a months wages I bet.

Nice problem to have but perhaps his best position is in a 4231 but I'm liking the 343. With Berahino keeping him on his toes he needs to raise his game as his fitness comes. I think perhaps part of the reason for bringing him in was to take the pressure off Berahino.
A front 4 of
Shaq Jese Choupa
Bera
Could be an option but it'd be difficult keeping them top 4 CBs happy.
