I thought i'd just repost a couple of my videos. I was just watching them back and thinking of the great players who have worn the shirt. I'm a misty eyed motherfucker. Love this club.

Sadly was born in 80 So didn't get to see some of these great players. Closest I ever got was watching the Magic Moments video the club released in the late eighties including the 4 all against Luton

Thanks for those Roots, never get tired of seeing them again. It was a great time for me as a teenager having Hudson and Greenhoff etc at our club. Great memories.

I was born in 73 so my first games were around 1980 time but 82/83 is the first season I really remember.

Love your videos mate!
My dad used to have the Match of the Day VHS's for the 60s, 70s and 80s and I always used to watch the 70s one if I was off school because Stoke were on it.

This was also at a time when we had Ball as manager and watching the lowest league position wed ever finished in. Listening to the stories my old man used to tell me and watching that video always gave me a little bit of hope that we would some day we would make it back to the top. I also loved seeing the boothen end going absolutely mental when Luton missed the penalty. What a sight that was

Hard as nails players, tackles, mud, surging terraces and bog rolls - how sanitised today's offering is.
Thank you, roots...

Proper football that is in all it's muddy glory.
How lucky were we to be able to watch that instead of the strictly come diving matches of today?

Fuck me, that first video, the first coming of Alan Hudson, looking bored by the mediocrity around him That was how I remembered it as a school boy, he can't have been that good, no one could be that good, but he was People will tell you the 2nd coming of Alan Hudson was good too, and perhaps it was, but it never matched the operatic splendour of the first, but nothing ever could.

Awesome to watch for a youngun like me! Greenhoff and Hudson looked special... But the state of that pitch! Imagine the injuries modern players would get!?
I think goalkeeping has moved on quite a bit since too!?

I remember so clearly the journey down from the north west, struggling to get somewhere on the terrace I could see from, naively celebrating the goals despite being surrounding by Derby fans ( who actually were good folk) , and dodging the gangs of fans running up and down the narrow streets after the game looking to confront each other. Think I knew then I was hooked to the cause for life!
