The 'Don' ups the ante, have to hope North Korea come to the negotiating table but I don't like the way this is going, all roads seem to point to the need for the Chinese to step in, I wouldn't want any nukes landing on my head.

It's a difficult one for Trump. The Chinese have told NK to wind its neck in without any real sanctions whereas the UN have imposed stringent export ban on much of NK minerals, metals and coal. But Kim Jung Un still threatens. US with a nuclear strike and destabilising the Korean Peninsular and Japan. It's a case of who will blink first but not sure how this will end. The Chinese will not want an American led invasion right on their doorstep so it is in their interest to put heavy pressure on Jung Un to cease his posturing and come to the negotiating table. If this didn't work then China could take military action themselves by way of invasion and overthrowing the NK regime. Lots of ifs and buts and a lot at stake in terms of World peace.

As always LL you are right on the mark with your views, and yes China is playing, as always, the waiting game, they will step in at the last minute and overthrow Kim Jung In, and I can see some sort of annexation of NK, and as far as the UN trade embargoes, again, China have not got involved, after all they crave coal, steel, rare earth, all of which are in abundance in NK, so for China it's a win win, both in Military terms and in economic terms. I am of the firm belief that Beijing will have agents within a few feet of NK's nuclear button, and will prevent any possible launch without hesitation. When have the Chinese ever been involved in any UN led military action...NEVER... While a US Led NATO coalition spend tens of billions fighting in the Mid East, the Chinese spend equal amounts building infrastructure, their military, and expanding their economic interests overseas. The Chinese have a 50 year plan, which every year is updated to match current political and economic trends, in our lifetime we will see that China is the only real superpower, both economically and militarily. They can destroy the global economy in a heartbeat if they so desired. |

China would look to the world as heroes and the destabilizing effect of having nukes fired at it would devastate the US economy.

The escalation is a piss poor attempt at shifting focus from the Russia investigation. Trump knows he's in deep shit and it's only a matter of time before the whole shit show that he's established comes crashing down around him. He knew the news of the FBI raid on Manafort's home was getting ready to break. He knows that a warrant for that raid could only be issued if their was solid proof that evidence of criminal activity was likely on the property. He also knows that Mueller has likely already got full access to his full tax records. The North Korea escalation is the last-ditch effort to change the media focus, and there is fuck all chance of that happening. The Donald is shitting the bed.

OK. The PRK say they will strike Guam in a few days, this sounds like the emptiest of threats to me, and not a basis to drop a nuke on Pyongyang or anywhere else for that matter. I suspect that Trump is engaging Kim in a battle of bluster, and as has been said before, then this is a great way to keep attention away from his problems at home, especially if all the reports of the PRK's ability to launch a missile against the USA is massively overstated. Lets not forget that the PRK and overstatement go hand in hand. If Kim really wanted to rock the boat, he would just go ahead and wipe out most of South Korea, however, as that would be a real threat with real capability, he's not saying that. So, back to the real world, China has all the strings to play and I fully expect China to keep a lid on things and probably do it covertly. If Trump decides to take direct action then there are plenty of options available to him that do not involve a radioactive dust cloud polluting South East Asia. Finally, lets not forget that an unstable PRK is good for the USA and bad for China, so as long as Kim cannot deliver on his threats, then it's good business for Trump to keep poking him with a stick. |

I can see this having legs this time around. It's got nowt to do with The Don trying to deflect from anything though (Seriously, stop swollowing everything the BBC/CNN feed you. You'd think you'd all have learnt by now) It's all about the war machine needing to keep ticking over. They know they can't get anymore 'joy' out of the middle east for now, they tried, oh boy did they try, and they nearly got enough of the gulible public onside to push ahead with a full scale invasion of Syria. Thankfully enough of us saw through it! This is now a new front with a new enemy though, you can already tell that more people are open to the idea of getting rid of this 'crackpot'.
China & Russia have got troops massed on their borders with North Korea, they seem to think this time it will happen. It's a great target too, not many North Koreans will be running around with smart phones filming all the bombs dropping, there'll be very few foreign cameras capturing anything, so they'll have free reign to bomb fuck out of the place & report it in any way they like... Will nodoubt all end up with a Rothschild's owned Central Bank magically springing up in the country not long after aswell.
... Once a few years have passed the machine can rumble on back to it's usual playground. Watch out Iran, they're coming for you next.

Only this afternoon , Steve Wright was interviewing Jon Culshaw, it was like 2000 all over again, but with one new impression of Donald, saying he had a mouth like a petulant tropical fish waiting to be fed. Every question turned into a Trump response, it was like "ok Jon we get the message, your first new impression since Tom Baker when Dead Ringers finished 15 years ago, give it a rest" , even Phil Cornwell only dined out on Mick Jagger and Michael Caine for 10 years

You're right with regard to getting the right people in a room for discussion, but that's about the only shred of sense you've offered. I'm fucking certain that sparking off a nuclear war about the worst possible solution to the problem. And for the record, I don't think Trump is getting the blame for the historical context of the situation, but he's certainly not helping the situation with his overtly aggressive stance and borderline threats of nuclear attack. He needs to quickly grasp that their are regional and global consequences to escalating the situation, not least a few million lives that are at stake just a few miles over the border in Seoul. He's got no leverage at all with the Chinese, and the idea they they will respond to his demands to take action are fucking laughable. We all know Trump's stance on refugee's, yet he's expecting the Chinese to spark a conflict that will result in millions of North Korean refugee's spilling into their country, not to mention the massive casualties that would be inflicted on both sides. In the short term, Trump needs to dial down the bravado and understand the gravity of the situation that he's inflaming. My guess is that he's less concerned with the consequences of his idiotic comments, and more interested in shifting media attention away from his regime's impending collapse. The man is a complete fucking moron with no regard for anything other then his personal wealth and ego. |
