I see there's about 100 Stokies looking at The Oatcake at the moment. How many of you are in N. Staffs and suffering from insomnia and how many, like me, are about to have supper before a pleasant evening in the west-coast sun?

They're predicting 40C here by Thursday (yes, it gets that hot in Canada). I won't be there this time, but my son will be at Goodison to give Rooney some jip...

You got much smoke up there youth? Choking pal. Gross. It's been thick all day today, barely see 300 yards in front of you, truck covered in ash this morning. Sunshine evacuated & Hwy 93 & 95 closed. It needs to rain and soon else the mountains will be on fire till the fucking snow comes.

Other direction for me. We currently GMT + 6, so we are 14Hours ahead of you. Goes to + 7 when the clocks change, as we don't follow suit. One of the oddest phenomena here is the almost in noticeable difference in Sunset/Sunrise throughout the year, probably a 20 Min spread, in UK it's about 6 hours...

As an aside I would love to see that one day I don't mean it sets and rises in 20 Min, that's more in Artic circle Billy, what I mean is the sun always sets here around 6.30 PM +/- 20 mins throughout the year, Sunrise about 5.45AM, again hardly any change, whereas UK in the winter it's dark by about 4PM, and the summer 10PM... Though I do agree with you about seeing the sun go down and rise again in a short time, that'd be pretty cool. On another side, At The Burj Khalifa in Dubai you can witness 2 sunsets in one day. Watch it go down, get in the lift, go to the top, watch it go down again...That's well and truly on my bucket list of things to do.

I think ShanghaiPotter is actually living in Thailand - he'll change his name to BangkokBoothener soon and then relocate to Melbourne to keep us on our toes By coincidence I live in Shanghai and Sunrise here today was 5:11 and sunset is 18:49 so a little different due to latitude from Beijing but not much
