I can't see this transfer going through at all. We are utterly hopeless in getting good deals for the club. According to Scholes back in January we had an agreement with Porto but we had plenty of time as his loan ran through to the end of the season.
He was interviewed by Radio Joke after the permanent signing of Lee Grant went through and he said something along the lines of: We needed to do something with Lee as his loan deal expired on Monday and we're happy to have got it all sorted. The situation with Bruno is a bit different as we have got him until the end of the season so we don't need to do anything with him in this transfer window.
It just shows the ineptitude of the man. We knew he was a good player and fitted right in back in Jan, so why not snap him up for £8m or whatever when no other club can try and turn his head? Oh no, this is where the penny pinching and being 'cute' in the transfer gets us. £5m more down the drain or the prospect of him lining up for one of our rivals.

Crystal Palace have agreed a deal in principle to sign Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi, according to Sky sources.
The deal for the Netherlands international is subject to the passing of a medical and agreeing personal terms.
Martins Indi spent last season on loan at Stoke City, who were hopeful of signing him again, but their option to sign him permanently expired on July 1.
Martins Indi has one year left on his contract at Porto.
