If he truly wants to leave then it's our best interests to not only get the highest price possible. He is our best player like it or not. Secondly, the transfer team should be holding crisis talks immediately, no pissing about. Cartwright and Co must start looking at potential replacements.

If we want to be the new Southampton, buy cheap and sell expensive and then reinvest in new players, added to a good youth policy, here is our chance.
By God, if we do sell, every last penny needs to be spent on squad strengthening - Ramadan is a ready made replacement, but the funds need to be used for central midfield and central defence.

how classless traveling with your Club for it's pre-season tour and team building exercises and handing in your transfer request ::)Getting a bit more publicity eh by doing it whilst you're abroad? He's hot and cold these days anyway. I'm not exactly bursting with enthusiasm at our lack of transfer activity however I doubt Arnie's privy to all that goes on behind the scenes. So, head turning it is then. Oh, the modern footballer!

Makes you wonder if there's real issues in the background. Everything is about players leaving at the moment. Hopefully we have irons in the fire. Ramadan is ready...

Think he will go to Milan (or similar) myself, and if that's the case who can blame him, If its West Ham then the board should prepare for a backlash, selling our best player to a mid table rival when you are not needing the cash will be a bitter pill to swallow for all concerned
Yes we have Ramadan, but Arnie is a another level right now and if we do sell he must be replaced in my opinion

I just hope West Ham are prepared to pay £25m+ or we'll be left with an unhappy, unpopular player. I jsut can't see West Ham breaking their transfer record and paying him £100k-a-week. I'm not saying he's not worth it - I just can't see it I'm genuinely not normally a knicker wetter but we're crap at negotiating with outgoing players. I just don't think we'll get £25m+

If Sigurdson is worth £50 million that Swansea are asking why can't we? That Sigurdson that scored 9 goals and had 13 assists-that's why they are asking £50 million. What were Arnies stats in that respect? I don't know his stats mate but he's a match winner that's what I do know

The whole club is an absolute shambles. No inspiration, no ambition, no positivity at all. This could be the start of a long hard season which could well ultimately end in relegation. We've had the best part of 18 months of absolute dross to endure, the manager is clueless, and the Board are seemingly happy for the situation to continue by penny-pinching in the transfer market. This situation has been brewing for a while and the only positive I can see is that this has happened relatively early in the window to allow some time for the "transfer team" sufficient time to "react" to find suitable improvements. The whole place has been a disaster waiting to happen...and now it has ! Worried Stokie Couldn't agree more about all that apart from the penultimate line. The leadership of our club is stinking the place out.

To compound all we will probably find Arnie has a £15 Million buyout clause soon! Whatever ever happens this is a mess and Mr Scholes will have to lose his job if this is not put right by the end of August. Arnie is right this club is showing no ambition at all. Ambition to keep up as much as anything.

It's about how utterly uninterested we seem to be in improving the team through investment, and the complete dross and false promises we've had to endure for the past 18 months.

We need to be all over Demarai Gray like a dog eating chips. As much as I'd love this to happen and I'd take him over Arnautovic, I can't see one of the most highly rated young wingers moving from one mid table club to another. I think Gray will stay put this season but when he does go he'll be a player for a top 6 team. If Arnautovic goes for around £25m or more how much would Gray cost? £30M+? Gray isn't playing every week though? Which is why he might be more amenable to moving. Why would he go for more than Arnie?

Best player at Stoke but maybe not the best player for Stoke, entertaining and infuriating in equal measure and I still haven't forgiven him for nearly knocking my block off with his peno at Swansea.

Southampton do seem to get decent prices for their crown jewels.
