Wonder how much WHU offered him, to be fair I don't see Arnie going into coaching or punditry so he should milk his career for all its worth, especially considering until he as about 25/26 he was a nothing player. Maybe we will match the wages offered by WHU. I wouldnt offer him a fucking penny more mate, the bloke is probably our top earner or very close on around 70 grand a week. As Foxy says fly him home and get him sold asap, because its quite plain to see he doesnt want to stay! |

I love Arnie the player and I hate to go all Arsenal on the Oatcake but it's been completely classless from the Arnie camp, signs a new deal pretending he loves Stoke fans when we all know he'd have been long gone if someone had offered him more money, then a year in to his new contract while just starting preseason he hands in a transfer request because he wants more money off West Ham
From now on we need to invest in youth, players that want to prove themselves and want to be here to do just that, the TV money really does show players/agents for what they really are

Arnie going is a good thing. It makes it easy to pick the team: Berahino Sobhi Bojan Shaqiri Fletcher Allen Tymon Bruno Ryan Johnson Butland Mixture of youth and experience. I think there is some truth in this. The squad is unbalanced. Loads of players for some positions very short in other areas. If , and it's a big if, we are prepared to re-invest in quality elsewhere this might not be a totally bad thing. |

It'll be poison if we keep him with the lads in Switzerland. He doesn't want to play for us and wants to move, he needs to be sent home so his attitude doesn't rub off on the other lads. Nothing at the stage is going to make him stay. When we get a good offer, get him gone.

On his day Arnie is superb, but it has never happened consistently enough for me. If we can get 20 mill and bring in another top quality winger with better attitude then so be it. Also his departure will give Sobi a chance to prove he is good enough for Prem. I do however, sympathise with Arnie's view that we lack ambition. Backroom staff seem to be dragging their feet over transfers, when several other teams have nearly finished their business.If Arnie goes to a bigger team than West Ham, I think he will end up bench warming!! Where are we finding this top quality winger for 20M from? Bang average Jack Cork is going for 11M! We already have the top quality wingers in Ramadan and Shaq. We need to make a decision on our transfer philosophy full stop. Do we want to retain an unwilling player on top wages, who will likely decrease in value? Taking personalities aside we should have the same approach regardless, so the question is what would we pay for him? I don't think many would be too impressed if we forked out 20 million plus for him, so arguably that would be good business for us if we got in and around that figure whilst freeing up wages for new players.
As frustrating as player power is, I see no value in forcing any player to stay whilst losing sale value and creating an untenable atmosphere - the club should have learnt their lesson on this by now. Pointless, unprofessional and more importantly financially irresponsible.

I think the smart move is for Stoke now to come out and tell everyone the bidding starts at 30M.
He clearly wants to leave so theres no point in beating about the bush. Tell West Ham to put up or shut up.

All this bile needs to be directed at the bloke running our commercial strategy which has been totslly out of kilter with the market and our recent performances , any other CEO would have been gone for such grosss misjudgement
if he goes he goes with Many thanks and Walters the same and Glen , Butland and Shaq won't be far behind and I think it's a reasonable judgement they can't all be greedy counts , I feel for Hughes stuck with a totally untenable strategy and buffoons running it and of course come October he will be the fall guy
