I just cannot see what the big deal is here. Arnautovic was bought for a song, as a punt, with a dodgy reputation he turned out to be excellent for us. He then signed a new contract last year before we sold him for a BIG profit recently. This is probably his last big money move and represents a large plus to his bank balance........he cannot be blamed for taking the opportunity, imo. He's not from Stoke and whether we reignited his career or not, is irrelevant. Football is a business populated by mercenaries and that's just the way it is. If the club were relying on his loyalty then that's just foolish. We need to move on and show some further action in the transfer market asap. There's no point in crying over spilt milk.

I remember people saying that about Demba Ba - he scored a hat trick I don't remember that, Demba Ba wanted to sign for us so why were people saying they were going to abuse him?

Take it with a pinch of salt if you like but consider all: Has Arnie joined a bigger club - in my honest opinion - no. Has Arnie joined a club with more ambition- in view of the in/out transactions re the transfer market I would say yes. His comments re the garbage going on within the walls of Stoke City - a cause for concern of which I have not a clue. Overall I think comments like this in the public domain need a corporate response from the management of SCFC. Without such the overarching perspective of the objectives of SCFC are in jeopardy and will do little to enure continued support of supporters and equally important being an attractive destination for quality transfers in.

cobham – we’ve signed as many duds as goodens but you’re right, we seem to quickly (within two windows) dispose of those that don’t cut it and rarely lose money. Last season Bilic was trying to pad out the squad for our long involvement in the Euro league ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kwfoKwtHI0jglJZ4qZf6.gif) and when that went all poohy early doors was left with a big squad of middling unmotivated journeymen. The Payet situation didn't help but most of those brought in made little improvement to the first team and this season buying to improve the starting 11. Having said that: Nordtweit - Free - sold back to Germany £7m Feghouli - Free - Galatasary £3-4m Randolf - Free - Middlesbrough £5m Fletcher - Free - Middlesbrough £8m - in fact Middlesbrough pretty much paid for Hernandez!! Valencia has also gone £8m to Tigres. So far as Arnie; you think WHU tapped him up, when for me it reads just as probable the other way. The more the noise on Arnie drags on the more it seems less about the money imo. I‘m sure Lanzini’s agent is well aware of any interest in his client - tapping up is normal business in the PL regrettably (I'd suggest Liverpool are in a league of their own in that respect) and if Coutinho’s valued at £90m, Lanzini’s must be at least £50m – so he can go with my blessing on that reasoning as much as he'd be missed and difficult to replace. gonk – from what I’ve read the sale of the Boleyn (£38m) cleared the bank debts with the rest spent on our contribution to the publicly owned O/S conversion and the move itself. Arnautovic scored 22 goals and had 23 assists in 125 games for us. Lanzini has 14 goals and 4 assists in 61 games for you. If Arnautovic is worth £25m, how do you work out Lanzini is worth £50m?

West Ham are a bigger club than Stoke.
But I doubt from this outburst that's why he joined...

Players will always come and go. Some will stay longer than others. Loyalty is important but everyone is entitled to move if they wish. However, the manner in which the Arnautovic brothers have behaved and what they have said and insinuated is unprofessional and unacceptable. I intend not to waste any further time referring to either of them

Agree , We've needed public clarity for months not to mention as things stand we've sold circa 20,000 tickets to watch a premier league squad not see one dismantled without replacement in the summer before a ball is kicked .

I'm sick of these 'massive' clubs we can't hope to compete with. I mean look at Everton on ITV4 in only their second go in Europe in 13 years. Playing in front of a half empty stadium and being out sung by the fans of the Slovakian Gas Board.
How can we compete with nights like that?

Cheers for clearing that up.

Stoke fans boo'd his name when it was read out over the tannoy before the match. Not in massive numbers admittedly, but him making the 'shush' sign was his reaction to that.

What gets me is that Danijel and Marko weren't worried about the lack of ambition being shown by the club when he signed a new 4-year £75k p/w contract last season. Peter, get the dong out mate. I'm sure the Slithering Siblings got a lovely big signing bonus when he signed that contract extension so I'm not surprised Mr. Coates is pissed off if he was (presumably) given reassurances by them that Marko would we sticking around for longer than a year, which I'm sure he would have been before doling out an expensive 4 year contract extension. Now a year later I'm sure West Ham have also paid the dildo loving duo another hefty signing on bonus, so I reckon the avaricious Austrians have probably planned this all and basically mugged us. That's my opinion on it anyway, reading what's been said on either side. The fact that Danny boy gave his interview to the Scum tells me everything I need to know about them both. Wankers. Like the Murphys, I'm not bitter ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif)

NO. There is an article in the Sentinel about it. Fans signed a disclaimer on shirts bought before the squad list was announced at the end of the window.
