Benny- typical Brum blues fan. Who remembers the song at games: " you're going home like Sandy Richardson"?

As anyone who saw his Bottom at Stafford castle in 2001 will tell you, Paul Henry is a very versatile actor, who has suffered more than most from typecasting. He has since done very well in theatre, encompassing Shakespeare and comedy. He has had some real tragedy in his personal life - not least of whiich, having his grandfather murdered by the real Peaky Blinders. He has lobbied hard for a role in that show, in which I think he would be excellent. He could bring real pathos. Game of thrones uses elderly British character actors to superb effect. For many years, he ran a pub in the rougher parts of Birmingham, and could handle himself - he was very physical, very connected to the local 'element' As I hope Dutchpeter might attest, his performance as a villain in The Sweeney was top notch. Stoppo driver is one of my all time favourite episodes Final Benny tidbit - during the 1982 conflict in the Falkland Islands (or if you're reading from Argentina - The Falkland Islands) - the British special forces referred to the local population as Bennies, due to the proliferation of woolly hats* *The Islanders and Benny dislike this fact Anyway, while we're on the subject of crossroads, where are the photos of top retro telly totty Diane Hunter?

The Sweeney episode 'Stoppo Driver' is the only time I can recall Paul Henry in a truly straight part. Incidentally, Falkland Islanders are now called NB's (not Benny)
