One of my mates studied there for a year, went over to see him and watched Hertha Berlin vs Brouissa Mönchengladbach at the Olympic stadium. Was superb

We also booked weeks ago, flying Ryanair Manchester to Berlin on Thursday afternoon, spending the night there before the train to Leipzig Friday morning, going back to Berlin for another night on Sunday before the flight back on Monday. Had a day in Berlin after we played Hamburg last year, brilliant city!

We've just booked up Birmingham to Leipzig fri to sun. 50 quid more than Berlin flights but trains are around that (BER-LPZ) plus the logistics of Berlin made flying to Leipzig (via Frankfurt) an easy choice. That's with Lufthansa.

I said when the first rumour was announced that Leipzig is a poor destination for the fans. We've paid 164 quid for flights, probably double what we really wanted to. The fact that German train prices are so steep makes it even worse as you can't really travel in from anywhere other than Berlin. I can see us taking fewer fans here than the Freiburg game to be honest as it's already looking like 600 quid plus for a two night stay, that coming a few weeks after my main summer holiday with the family makes it all the more daunting finance wise.

About £110 return to Berlin we got going Friday night to Sunday night from Manchester. Just hoping the train isn't too much now!

Likewise booked on Luthansa flight from Bham, Friday to Sunday.leipzig is a trickier location with only a few practical routes in. On the plus side, it's a smaller city than Hamburg and easier for fans to find one another and enjoy a beer together. Their ground looks amazing and as a new Champions League side, they will pose a big test for us, looking forward to it.

Where did you go for your train tickets mate? On the official DB Bahn site, found some for €45 each but just wondering if there are any cheaper sites.

Best to go through official sites mate otherwise they add on booking fees and all sorts so yeah, use that DB transport site. We jumped a train last year to the airport from Hamburg city centre, they tried to fine us €50 but didn't pay it. Said we should receive something in the post but nothing ever came. Won't make that mistake again

One thing I have noticed is how close the ground is to the city centre. Literally a 5/10 minute walk from the main square so that's ideal. The ground itself looks very impressive. Hopefully we will be lower tier behind the goal

On a positive note, hotels seem cheap although they are starting to fill up for that weekend. We've booked the Marriott in the centre at what works out £30 each per night. Can't complain.

How much did you pay for the room mate? A room for three people works out at around 100 quid per night at the Marriott. There are cheaper hotels though for double occupancy rooms, this just worked out the best deal for the triple room we required.
