Im just relieved it was a loan and not 25 million or whatever cause then Hughes' job would have been on the line ( and I'm Hughes in).

Big disappointment IMHO. I was hoping he'd recover his Swansea form for us. Sadly, it wasn't to be!

Big disappointment IMHO. I was hoping he'd recover his Swansea form for us. Sadly, it wasn't to be! He might have done if he was given a bit more time. Fair enough he never exactly set the world on fire in his 10 games but as soon as he scored a couple he was bombed out of the side never to be seen again. When you look at the other players who filled his position it's baffling how he didn't get anymore game time considering Hughes obviously thought he was the right man for us. Either that or the theories that our manager hasn't got the first clue what he's doing when it comes to building a successful team/squad are true.

Clear him out to make way for the next round of disappointing lads. We can surely find another way to spend that money on someone to let us down and under-produce.

Thanks for joining the striker graveyard that is SCFC Wilf.
Should have been perfect for us, so Im left wondering if we will ever get 15 goals from a striker under Mark Hughes.
Berahino might manage 1.5 next season

Surprised how positive he's been and professional. Shame he didn't get much game time, probably the best goalscorer we had.

There has to be a back story to this disaster. He wasn't even getting on the bench. He certainly talks the talk.....

Thx Wilfred for your excellent contribution to SCFC.....I will never forget your 2 goals against Swansea.. Now quietly disappear and take your £100,000 a week with you....🙋🏻♂️ So that will be two more that Berahino then............ For what it's worth I thought - after a less than inspiring first few games - he was actually starting to look a bit sharper around the time he was left out pretty much never to return. Consequently having persevered with him up to that point I would have stuck with him for a few games more to see if it was in fact a corner turned. The fact that he hasn't featured at all this year - not even on the bench - suggests there is more to it than purely footballing reasons . So to answer your question - given that we've paid him all season for only a handful of games with a poor goal return - then no I don't think he has been value for money. Though whether that is entirely down to Bony, poor man management or a combination of the two I guess we shall never know. However you could say that for a growing list of personnel, some of which we are stuck with and some of which we're even re-signing. At least Bony's now off the books.............and we're still waiting for Berahino's first goal.

Fine example of why football is a team game needing all the players to rely on each other. Bony failed in front of goal but a lot of the time he wasn't the service he needed.
Far too often the focus is on the striker or the goalkeeper. We need balance most of which requires a solid midfield who can be first line of defence, initate attacks and hold yhe ball when needed. Easy to say but has proven elusive for us to provide. We need LB, RB, CB and Bruno. Then 2 solid midfield holding/defending players. We have attacking miffielders and forwards capable of scoring with a solid defence behind them. All this of course with players who can play with pace and determination.
A big ask but achievable with less emphasis on "star" players.

I can only presume there was a trigger clause in his deal for us to pay more money (loan fee or wages) or, heaven forbid, the crystallisation of an option to buy after a certain amount of games, so with his form teetering on the brink of shockingly bad, we decided to shelve him for the rest of the season.
Otherwise, in a team shorn of real goalscoring threat for the majority of the remainder of the season, his continued exclusive, even from the bench, looks truly bizarre.
