It was definitely against the rules. I think at least a seven point deduction is in order for both teams involved.

If these firms (ours included) entertain such frivolous novelty bets, then they should to expect to lose and lose big. There shouldn't be any enquiry for this type of bet. As the firms were stupid enough to accept it in the first place, they can expect the worst when punters demand their winnings! It's hardly anything that could be deemed random.

It's a pretty special day when I end up agreeing with Garth Crooks.

I find the whole thing cringeworthy.
The hoo-ha we have to put up with when a professional footballer retires these days is nauseous. I wonder what the like of Gordon Banks and Booby Charlton think when they see players who have actually won/achieved very little compared to them, being praised and lauded as "great".

I agree, the great Booby Charlton must be thinking "What a tit!"

It's getting to the point where I can't be arsed with football any more. Let's face it, all the fuckers are on obscene amounts of money and we are perpetuating it by giving a shit.
This situation with Terry is just one more example of the ludicrous state football is in. Allardyce walking back into a job so soon is another.
I like the game, but fuck me there's so much surrounding it that is laughable.

He's been there over 20 years, played nearly 500 games for them at the very highest level. Nothing was at stake and everyone agreed it up front. What's the issue? its not the elaborate sub, its the fact 2 teams conspired to do something pre-match (which can be bet on) Bookies shouldn't pay out. Simple
