Sorry if there is a previous thread admin, feel free to add this to that thread
I purchased a 2 TB memory stick fron e-bay. Before it come ppl at work told me I've been conned, as its impossible, at this time, to get this sort of momory on a normal sized stick, and at £9.50, really?
As it transpires, the stick came, I copied some files and it showed up as errors halfway through
I took the stick to work and once I opened what it did copy, the device was not recognised
I think I have got my money back, and I should have known better(thick tw_t me), but this is a massive scam, there were many sellers selling this stuff

Memory stick scams are commonplace. No such thing as a free lunch though.

Not sure if you wanted me say anything else? I can give a highly technical explanation of how they do it?

ok, i know a bit of basic, they can compress files to get some on, and say a 4 gig, the procees overights the first things they have saved....basically they are low memory sticks which have had some clever manipulation

If you complain to eBay you should be able to get your money back at least.

The firmware has been hacked to read 32GB (or more). You can actually fix it by re-partitioning using something like Gparted.

I sell mem sticks as promotional items, and 2TB is both impossible, and not economically viable. Most we ever do is 16GB, most popular is 4GB. Always wary of huge memory at stupid prices. Average RRP for 4 to 8GB is between 6 and 8 quid a pop, when I see 64's, 128's etc etc for less than this I steer well clear.

The problem with eBay as well is Chinese sellers using spoof addresses in England and Ireland when really they're shipping from China. Back a few years ago the memory sticks would come in some fake Sony packaging, Sandisk, TDK etc...
The editing of the size can be done within Windows itself using downloaded applications, then it's just repackaged up and ready to go.
Real capacity is usually 2 or 4GB, where once the end of the memory is reached, the beginning of storage is then overwritten with the new data to give the impression its bigger than it is.
2TB in a flash drive is plain daft really. And it'd be fucking expensive. SSD's at 1TB are majorly expensive which gives a good indication to what a flash drive would cost with such storage. Better off buying an external WD, Segate or Buffalo Drive.
