No-one likes to be made to look silly by coming over all racist when there is no reason to do so as you did on the Merkels lads thread so I get why you're still a bit sensitive about teasing over it! Let it not be said I don't equally give credit where it's due, so well done to you and the rest of the bunch who managed to refrain from climbing all over the Toronto van attack while the facts were still being established. Some welcome progress I feel. This is in stark contrast to the reaction on Breitbart which instantly headlined the "angry, Middle Eastern looking" aspect which prompted several thousand numpties in the comments section to go off on one about Muslims. Bluers- For someone who keeps hinting that they don't take 'The Cake' seriously, you seem to spend a fair bit of time policing the threads on here! Richard, I'm quite happy to tackle people's racism and general unpleasantness towards others if they, say, try to belittle someone with dyslexia type issues over their english. Dare I say it but it seemed to work since there was no rush to blame Islamic militants over the Toronto incident last night. Unlike the Merkels Lads thread. And yeokel appears to have stopped attacking Essex over his spelling and grammar. Both good things I'm sure you'd agree. But on the whole I'm not bothered really. I certainly don't over-react like some do and blocking other posters? Nah, bit tragic that! There are numerous add a letter type threads I couldn't give a toss about! |

Essex does try to enter into debate at times and all I’ve ever done is point out to him that some of his posts might carry a bit more weight if they were better written. You only need to learn the difference between ‘there’ and ‘their’ once, and you will get it right for the rest of your life. Sadly, some other posters on here see suggested corrections as an ‘attack’ when they are actually just aimed at helping one or two posters be taken more seriously and thus improving the quality of debate, just like rwb claims to want to do. |
