Thought it would be a good idea to start a threat were people can wish others good Luck and also for runners to publicise the charities or why they are running the marathon good luck to all!!

Thought it would be a good idea to start a threat were people can wish others good Luck and also for runners to publicise the charities or why they are running the marathon good luck to all!! Why don't the organisers of London Marathon look at the programme of British City marathons because the London Marathon clashes with the World Famous Plymouth Half Marathon. As a consequence there are only three entries for the Plymouth run on Sunday. Only kidding, whilst not wishing to threaten any of them, good luck to all runners in both marathons. I have friends running in both.

I think one of the reasons other running events like Plymouth are on the same day is the hope to cash in on all those that cant get in the London Marathon

From Stoke City website Assistant boss gearing up for challenge of a lifetime following Saturday's hometown return... MARK BOWEN says he would love nothing more than to head into Sunday’s London Marathon on the back of a Potters victory at the Liberty Stadium. The City Assistant Manager is gearing up to tack the challenging 26.2 mile trek around the capital in aid of a charity close to his heart, ‘Guide Dogs for the Blind’. The Welshman, who was born and raised just outside of Swansea, has spent the past few weeks putting the final touches to his preparations for the run, but says the outcome of this weekend’s fixture will undoubtedly have the biggest baring on his state of mind come race day. “Swansea is my home town, well near enough anyway, and it is always nice to go back there, so I am looking forward to it,” he told Stoke City Player in the build-up to the encounter. “We have had some good matches against them over the last few years, which have more often than not been close and entertaining games. “They are having a tough time of it this season though and that may well add to the tension on Saturday from their point of view. “Hopefully we can capitalise on that and build on the good performance we produced last weekend which earned us the three points we desperately needed. “If we win the match down there then I will go into the race in really good spirits, but if it is a negative result then I know I won’t sleep the night before the run, that is just how I am, so I hope to god we manage to get the three points.” The 53-year-old admits that he has always wanted to participate in what is regarded as one of the most iconic marathons in the world, and says had he not agreed to take part in it this year then the opportunity may well have passed him by. “It’s something that I have always wanted to do to be honest, so it isn’t something that I have just thrown myself into on a whim,” he added. “It came about though through my sponsorship of Guide Dogs for Blind, something I have done for three or four years now. “Myself, my wife and my kids have always had Rottweilers in the family and when we sadly lost Herbie a couple of years back I decided to set up an account and make regular donations to the charity. “As part of the package they sent me a thank you letter and a puppy that my money would go to and support, and ironically he was called Herbie too, which was a strange coincidence. “I knew that they were always looking for ways to raise money, just as every charity is, and having always wanted to run a marathon I just thought why not kill two birds with one stone and do the marathon and help raise some funds for a great cause too. “The gaffer (Mark Hughes) did it when he was about 38 and I knew that if I didn’t do it now, then I would probably never get around to doing it, so I contacted Guide Dogs for the Blind and they accepted me and got me a spot in the marathon.” He added: “Only time will tell whether it was the best decision or the worst that I have made in my life!" A plethora of first-team players and backroom staff have already pledged money to Bowen’s cause, and he is asking supporters to dig deep and help raise funds for a hugely worthwhile charity. I'll be there, running for Francis House children's hospice. If anyone wants to sponsor me (or just laugh at pics of me) then go to www.justgiving.com/timslmYou can also text "TLFH82 £3" to 70070. You can change the amount to £1, £2, £4, £5 or £10 depending on how much you'd like to give. My employer are matching all donations, so if you give a fiver it's worth £10 to Francis House.

Just sent you a tenner....enjoy Sunday and let's hope you look 2.6 times more knackered than at the end of the Knighton 20 10 That's fantastic felonious! Thank you. Francis House put 89p of every £1 they raise directly into the care they provide for kids and families. Their admin costs are kept to a minimum so every £1 donated is put to good use. I know there's a lot of support for the Donna Louise on here and we always take our old kids stuff to their shop in Leek, so I felt a bit guilty running for a Manchester charity. It's my company's supported charity though, so I can make the MD match my donations. I went to visit a few weeks back and ended up a bit tearful. There are rooms for dying kids that double as mortuaries (although you'd never know it) so families can spend as much time together as possible at the end. That's a pretty bleak thought, but the place seemed so happy and a fun place to be and I'm sure the Donna Louise is the same. My kids are fine fortunately, so this isn't necessarily all that personal, but it's good to know that places like Francis House and the Donna Louise are there for those that need them.

3.10 on the nose. Wouldn't have been happy with that beforehand but I didn't know what a cruel mistress the marathon is then. I was metronomic at 3 hour pace until 20 miles, then my hamstrings tightened, and my calves and thighs started cramping from 23ish. Crawled down the embankment but the crowd really is as amazing as everyone says, which at least stopped me from waking.
Will done to all runners.
