agree and dissagree,
mission seem abit simple sometimes, but the actual story is much better.
you have to remember this is a test of sorts. the next one will be better obviously

I got bored at 65% ish, The thing I like most is the storyline, thats a HUGE improvement on the other GTA's but the Missions just started feeling same same and far to simple to do, I just find myself driving around the City checking out each building cause the graphics are beyond stunning on a 50" screen

I agree to a certain extent.
I thought San Andreas was unreal, the huge scope of the map, the fact that you could beef the character up, buy houses etc etc.
GTA iv's missions are so repetetive - its like you've done them all before wether in GTA III or Vice City or San Andreas - there's nothing really new.
Having said that, there are certain things in iv that I really do love - the multiplayer battles are awesome and never get boring. The graphics are miles better, car handling better, lighting and effects better.
But overall I have to agree that the hype was too much. Yes its a good game, yes it has endless playing time (in multiplayer), yes it has better graphics and stuff. But I don't think it is miles better than San Andreas. It seems like they have taken a step back with regards to storyline so that they can focus on beefing the graphics up. The Radio Stations aswell in iv are pants - Vice City was by far the best for music.
Why they couldn't do a completely new area to explore instead of using the old GTA III map is a mystery.
But having said this, it still hasnt left the xbox since having it, so its already surpassed COD4, Halo 3 etc.
I am sure GTA V is on the horizon already which will be a whole new kettle of fish altogether!!

I just can't see what the next one has to offer (if there is a next one)

Ben - I totally agreee mate - Vice City will be next. Unless they do a London version but that would be too controversial for them to try so can't see that happening myself.
Vice City is tried and tested and worked well.

the thing with doing another london is, as good as they would make it,
when the getaway 3 comes out, it will be the same game, only with the ACTUAL london,
it will be vice city, then after that they will release san andreas on 2 discs

COD4 has strangely changed I think, Its kinda gone up a maturity level, No more kids screaming and swearing down the microphone because they got killed, Had a great chat with a guy that supported Derby and his dreadful season and wished us all the luck....
Back to topic, I agree If GTA IV was San Andreas It would of been amazing, It still is an amazing game but im "Over" it now..

Yep, correct Ben.
All the major companies including MGM, Marmax, Universal etc are all geared for producing Blu Ray within the next year or so. From then on everything will be released on Blu Ray as is everything on DVD now.

Cons of GTA IV:
Controls are a bit rubbish- the whole cover system is badly done, more often than not you change weapons or something and Niko ends up just standing there getting shot at. Also, the cars have the cornering ability of a dead dog.
Characters- It seems like you do 4 missions for each person then move on, I can't remember half the people I've worked for already, they were instantly forgettable.
Boring- In all fairness, I keep hailing taxis because driving from one end of the city to the other is just boring, not enough long roads where you can get a bit of speed, too many naffy one way streets and right angle corners.
'Alderney'- Completely pointless island. Should set more missions at the landmarks like Statue of Liberty etc.

not got it yet, but for me what i loved about the old game wasn't the missions, it was being able to run around/drive around going berserk, finding a nice spot and sniping passers by , or trying to break into the army compound. or wheelie a bike for miles basically just dicking about I loved that stuff
can i do that stuff still

Multiplayer is a game on its own. Well worth the money Dave, get you off that turismo kart racing anyway! ;D ;D

I'm currently working for Jimmy Pegorino. I love the game.. I think it's absolutely immense but the biggest problem I've found is how the missions are pretty repetitive. Maybe there's only so much you can do in terms of type of mission but driving around and killing a few people again and again and again is beginning to bore me slightly
