Good news for them, and I hope they bring it home, but the tournament is completely shafted by this ridiculous decision to allow under 23 teams into it. Completely devalues the football in my opinion.

How many B teams would have taken 40,000??? I'll be honest, I wanted two U23 teams to get to the final this year, just to emphasise how ludicrous a decision it was. When they realise the interest isn't there, and get lampooned for it, they'll soon change their mind.

Whilst it's great for the clubs involved, especially given Coventry's recent history, you know that the 70k tickets sold for Wembley will define the tournament as a success for the wankers in charge. www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2017/apr/01/coventry-oxford-checkatrade-trophy-wembley

Reminds me so much of the Bristol City final with us with both teams taking such fantastic followings.Who would have thought the bald headed bastard Mr Lynch would let us take that quick free kick to win it

It was certainly the largest attendance that season at Wembley. Shows what a difference it makes when there are not so many sponsors "interested".

Who's this co-commentator?
"I think there'll be another goal in this game. I'm not sure who'll get it though."
Really insightful stuff, that.

Can honestly say i was kind of looking forward to this game, fond memories of this game from our 2 wins in it.Shame they messed around with the format but so happy to see a club winning it that really need it.They are going down but this is a building block for them next season. Not been interested in watching Celtic winning the league today or the 2 Premier league games on tv today, this is a great advert for lower league football.Really can't think of a league in the world where 2 3rd tier clubs would pull in 70,000 fans.

When they realise the interest isn't there, and get lampooned for it, they'll soon change their mind. Ive seen the figures ( wasnt supposed to but they were shown to us by a sympathetic source). Gates are spectacularly down but prize money is up threefold. The clubs will have to decide whats more important, PL cash or the integrity of the competition. The EFL were lucky with these two finalists, pulling in 74k gate. Imagine what the gate would have been with one academy side in final, let alone two.

Good for Coventry but get the feeling it's more of a wake for them
Let's hope this big crowd doesn't convince the EFL to try this format next season
