Fa site and video interviews linkFrom stoke city siteStriker nets monthly prize... STOKE CITY U23s striker Julien Ngoy has won the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for March. The 19-year-old scored in each of his three league appearances for the Potters earlier this month against Norwich City, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Belgium Under-21 international beat off competition from last month’s winner Oliver McBurnie of Swansea City and Reading striker Jordan Holsgrove to claim the prize. Ngoy was chosen by a panel of the Premier League Football Development Department after PL2 managers had selected the best individual performance from each of their opponents in March. Speaking after hearing the news of Ngoy’s triumph, manager Mark Hughes said: “Julien’s done very well and in the last few weeks has been scoring goals as well which he needs to do. “He’s had a little taste of the Premier League and needs to ensure he continues to influence games to keep banging on my door to give him more opportunities. "We are pleased with how he is progressing. Next year is a big one for him – if he continues in the same vein then he’s got a great future ahead of him.”

He should be on the bench now.

He should be on the bench now. For me he should be our fourth choice wide player, so if one of Shaqiri/Arnie/Sobhi was injured he'd be on the bench for me. Also he could make it as an option up top too. There's no point having Bony in the matchday squad unless we want to sign him, Walters would be my preference against tougher opposition, but other than that he'd be behind Berahino/Crouch/Diouf (who is massively under used as a forward).

Nice to see praise for the youth players like N'goy building that academy right!

I've only seen glimpses of him, but I think he has great potential. Only time will tell.

I'd rather see him through the middle but if he has a chance out wide then so be it. There's no excuse why he hasn't been on the bench these last few games.

Excellent news; great achievement. Is this a first for Stoke?
Interesting that there is only 1 from the previous months that pays for one of the big 6 clubs.

As soon as the window shut he was out of the squad (as expected). It does make you wonder.

TBF he should (in theory) have a great chance at CF due to the distinct lack of one in the squad! Crouch is ineffective, Berahino hasn't had enough of a chance yet, Bony is as useful as a wet fart, Walters (see Bony). Our first choice wingers are 2 of the first names on the team sheet at the moment. He is winning awards as a CF so bloody give him a chance there, what is the worst that can happen? We shouldn't be using square pegs in round holes still, and it is worrying that we are!

Don't forget Thierry Henry started as a winger and look how good he became when he went up front

Surely he's third choice if you're including shaqiri, cos he never fucking plays.

Scored 3 in 3. Wins an award for his troubles. Starts for the first time for the Belgian u21s. Can't get in the Stoke squad ahead of Wilfried Bony who won't be at the club next season.
Mint.
