I was at that game, Malcolm - close enough to see the incident clearly. I'm glad he remembers us fondly - you are right he looked to be a good prospect. Its a bit of a shock to read that is was in 2000. Time does seem to fly by far too quickly these days. I was in row 11 boothen end, was thinking 7 years ago... then realised no 17 years ago, his bloody leg break is nearly old enough to buy a pint. On a different note when does this ground become no longer the "new ground" it's scary to think that a whole generation of Stokies have no idea or recollection of what was before. Said this a while ago my mum moved from the house I grew up in so even though it's my mums house when I go it's not home quickly explaining the analogy 🤔 About the Brit/bet for some of our fans

yep, 37 on 11 April according to Wiki. He was only 20 when he played for us, which I must admit surprised me Which is even more surprising if his Wife AND kids (plural) came on the pitch. Must've married at 16 or something

Don't remember anything about an electronic tag? Yes second game was 1-1- with Vale Re: the "electronic tag" memory, I've just found an article online confirming he was convicted of assault in April 2000, so it looks like I might have remembered that correctly. Since everyone deserves the chance to change and put their past behind them, I'll leave it at that, without going into the specifics of the incident.

Still, as a man of some fame and gravitas (as well as having a posh voice) I'm sure you'll get away with it!

Just having a quick look at his career on wikipedia after he left Stoke. Christ, talk about journeyman. Never settled anywhere for long did he. How strange that a player who showed such promise and workrate at Stoke was shipped out pretty quickly by almost every club that had him. I think his tag kept going off at 7:00pm requiring him to wait at Her Majesties Pleasure.
