Remember this game and the incident well. Undoubtedly a sending off for a second yellow. We knew it , Untd knew it , and so did the Referee. I can not remember who he was ? I also recall hearing or reading somewhere, it may have been an earlier Neville interview, that the Ref had a word with Fergy at half time and suggested that it may be a good idea to sub him as he could not turn a blind eye to his next foul which would have been inevitable. The tackle on Ethrington was bad and in today's game could have been a straightforward Red. No it couldn't it was MU. !!!! think the ref at Stoke was Andre blind pugh mariner the one at west brom was chris mr man u foy

Man of the people Gary Neville? When he calls fellow professionals 'average players giving you problems' smacks of his true nature and arrogance. Nice of him to highlight the corrupt officals in this way. Anyway, fuck it, it's all a big laugh when it's going your way! He was one of the best right backs of his generation, lots of players are average compared to him!

To be fair to fergie he made him go out the second half and immediately sub him. That was a rare bit of class from Utd because he knew he should have walked they just gave the sub time to warm up, they were buying time

I don't know whether or not someone is being facetious, but the Cnut should have been sent off. Fair play to him my Arse. It's too late, after the event! I along, with everyone that saw the incident knows he should have gone! F'ing disgraceful that he wasn't sent off on the day! It still wrankles with me, along with the other two that prestwich mentions!

Why are there so many people saying "he should have been sent off"?
We know! He knows himself! Try watching the video!
Jesus wept!

I like Gary Neville and he speaks with a deal of honesty most of the time, that video being a good example. But talking of shit refs favouring big clubs, nothing has changed, so spend a few minutes watching this from yesterday's Rangers v Hamilton game. First off at 0-0, Rangers keeper should have gone, although it's a tough one to call, but surprise surprise the benefit of the doubt went to Rangers!, then a shocking penalty decision where the Rangers striker just knocks the ball away from himself, then a truly appalling tackle on 2:00 which deserved two red cards not one. When your own crowd goes "Ooooooh" you know it's a bad one! Absolutle joke refereeing in a joke league. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39086738www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39086738

He's lying. Do you not understand. He should have said nothing. He's been asked a question. If e doesn't answer then it further proves his guilt. He's getting an excuse in first to try and reduce the punishment. Do you not understand how it works? Everyone does it, even us.

Qureens Engrish. He's a fucking liar! He brought his elbow down on the lads face! If (as I've said on another thread) does not get a retrospective ban, there is no doubt in my tiny mind, that the shit get treated especially well. P.S. I'm in no doubt about that anyway. Herrera against us, a prime example!

There will never be a more stonewall blatant second yellow card than that. Nobody in the ground could believe he stayed on the pitch. Interesting that he admits he got away with one at West Brom as well, dreadful, gutless refereeing on both occasions scared of upsetting Fergie. Fair play to Neville for his honesty. Jonation Woodgates 2nd tackle at Wolves was as bad if not worse than Nevilles. how did we get away with that
