I've no time for loud mouth Trump but he's miles ahead in the polls for the Republican nomination. The 2024 election will be very hard to call with an obviously senile Biden and Kennedy looking like he'll run as an independent candidate. In which case Biden will win as Kennedy will spilt the Republican vote. I think he's a bit of an unknown quantity - an interesting character who could well pull support from both parties. I wouldn't be surprised to see him with over 20% of the vote against a very polarising Trump and unpopular Biden. |

That just gives free attacks for the Republican (in this case) candidate. Also, candidates generally stand out more when in opposition. That is, unless someone passes a grandstand sweeping piece of legislative reform, which doesn’t really come around that often. Personally, I hope that Buttigieg will be in the running in 2028. However Chris Moore is the kind of centre-left candidate that could do very well. Current Governor of Maryland and has served. If he can get a short Senate appt before 2028, he could be a real contender. |
