Value added tax. If you play in a bigger league you are worth more. That doesn't necessarily mean that you are a better player. Just someone who fits into a managers system. Bar the odd great. My point was that most of the over inflated prices for players are just that. VAT. Early on in my career as a Customs Officer I used to be a VAT man in Wolverhampton and I have actually visited Walsall FC and verified their VAT accounts which included VAT on their player purchases and sales. But you've still lost me on the point you are making. VAT is levied (currently at 20%) on all sales of players between UK clubs - different rules apply to sales within Europe and on sales from UK clubs to clubs outside Europe. But the VAT, where it is levied, is a simple flat rate on the sale price whether that player is a multi £million player or costs only a few hundred £thousand. Im not talking about VAT. I'm talking about how much money is put into a player depending on which league they are playing in and how much they are actually worth. VAT was just a metaphore for how much they were overated in the scheme of things.

Everybody knows what Barton is. But the punditry by Trevor Sinclair about the incident on MOTD was disgraceful. Refusing to say anything bad about his blatant cheating because 'he's a mate' should see him out of a job.

I know Barton got booked after the stamping then feigning injury scenario yesterday means he can't get a retrospective ban for it but could he get one for the hand to the face of one of the Lincoln players not long afterwards?

Once again confusion reigns, this was a reply about Mark Rhead, Lincoln striker from Stoke, but admin seem to think it should be merged with a totally unrelated thread...

That's disgraceful. Deserves a 3 game ban for that - but I'm sure he won't get it. :-( Deserves a 3-year ban not a 3-match ban for that What a sorry excuse for a human being; a rodent which lives in a gutter has more class than him

Three incidents Barton could have been disciplined for. The first was a leading elbow which gave the Lincoln player a black eye, that could easily have been a sending off. Then he feigned being punched and later, the slap/punch on the winger. So glad Rheady and co fucked the claret cunts good and proper, COME ON YOU RED AND WHITES!

Cant wait for work on Monday to take the piss out of the six fingered deluded half wits who still think they're better than us although the recent result at the 365 and league table says it all.

The MOTD pundits excelled in their vapidity when they spoke about Joey Barton limiting themselves to "Joey will be disappointed with himself" and "That's want you get with Joey" instead of unambiguous criticism I.e. Saying his conduct was wholly unacceptable and there are no mitigating circumstances (not even Mr Barton's pretensions to understanding Nietzsche).
Supporters find this behaviour distasteful (meaning feigning injury although you could say the same for apologist MOTD pundits) but clearly the players don't.
And that's why it will continue.

That's just how they are. I mean you wouldn't get Hartson calling a footballer a cheat would you.* *Yes that was sarcasm - I can't find the smileys on my phone.
