Ball boy? He's bigger than the lad who pushed him over.

Eden Hazard got a 3 match ban. I actually think this one does deserve more.

On a tangent.
How did Cardiffs assist manager Hunter get away with his abuse/ attack on the Stoke ball boy about ten years ago in front of the JSL.

Cardiff was Dave Jones era I thought Hunter but you could be right with Wilkinson.
It happened in front of me and several Stokies threatened with eviction trying to explain the situation to coppers. As usual Cardiff got away with it though Jones was taking some stick.

Any time Leyton Orient get mentioned I always think back to our own ball boy giving their fans the wanker sign after Steino scored twice in the last three minutes during the promotion season

A few incidents spring to mind here, like the Cardiff one above. Poyet went ballistic at the multiball system that we were allowed to use in the Championship and was instructed by the referee to personally go to each ballboy and confiscate their ball. You'd think that Mourinho and Rooney would have got into trouble the other week, as well.
It's legitimately part of the home team's home advantage, and I don't particularly enjoy watching some very well paid professional athletes mouthing off at 7 year old kids.

Argyle ball boy was in the process of throwing the ball towards the corner when he has been assaulted. Player should be banned Sine Die as he would be in local football.

IMO the lad should have made a complaint to the police for assault. The Orient captain has received a six match ban. There appear to be two coppers in the background watching it.

Assault !! F*** me, get on with it ! Banned yes, but police involvement, yer having a laugh Disagree completely. He didn't assault another player or the official it was a unpaid member of the public volunteering to help cretinous players like him to keep the game flowing by retrieving the ball. Maybe if the ball boy was preventing him from getting the ball you could possibly understand, but not condone, his actions. FFS the player didn't even have the guts to go up and apologise to the lad after the game. If he had then maybe he would have avoided a long ban. There is precedence for criminalising assault on the field of play for example Duncan Ferguson was given three months for assaulting another player when playing for rangers. IMO to not criminalise this type of behaviour by "holier than though" professional footballers sends all the wrong messages to youngsters wanting to be footballers and it also undermines the Respect Campaign in football.

Another "Sentinel" style website, so can't see the footage. No doubt this lad was an innocent victim.
Whilst there can be no excuse for players pushing ball boys, or anyone else, clubs do need to be mindful that they do not encourage their ball boys to "cheat" ( "gamesmanship by ball boys HAS been seen)...such action puts them at risk and probably contravenes Health & Safety laws...

The ball boy picked up the ball and was about to roll it towards the corner flag when the orient captain assaulted him. There was no justification for his actions and should face criminal charges IMO. I don't get that some posters feel this is unnecessary.

A good clout around the back of his head would have been enough ,but pushing the six foot ball boy over was unforgivable 😀

Didn't Duncan Ferguson slap the nut on someone though? Completely different situation if you ask me. Only difference is that injury resulted from Ferguson's assault. If the ball boy had made a complaint, as he is under 18, it would be dealt with as a "non-injury common assault against a child" and certainly in the public interest to charge him because of the wide audience it received. The law doesn't allow for a smaller bloke to get away with assaulting somebody taller. Oh well one law for overpaid morons who think they are above the law and another for us peasants I suppose.l

If you shoved a teenager to the ground up Hanley in front of two policemen and caught on cctv you would expect a trip to the station.

'yes' 'what shall we do about it then' 'nowt, he's a big bloke and he wasnt breaking the speed limit, and it's hot choccie and biscuits back at the station at 10'
