Defeders really need to be switched on all the time Isn't this a copy of something Ryan Giggs did about 7 or 8 years ago.

Does anyone remember Bjarni's trick of standing over a free kick and complaining to the ref about the distance of the wall? Can't remember who it was against but he was really making a big deal out of saying they weren't ten yards, throwing his arms up and shouting, and eventually got so agitated he started indignantly pacing out the ten yards himself to demonstrate they weren't far enough - but as he got close to the wall he suddenly sprinted off at an angle and another of our players knocked a little through-ball past the wall for him to run onto. It had been a ruse all along... always stuck in my mind, it was a good bit of entertainment.

That bought back memories, we as a Sunday side (Station Meir) in the Ansells League were pulling that one in the 90's! I aren't taking the credit it was one of the other lads, first time we did it against Rileys (High Lane, another pub long gone!) they went fookin bananas ha. It was the season I think that the rule came out where at kick off or like this a dead ball situation, the ball didn't have to move full circle. Came off a good few times before word got around.

Whilst it may be legal it pushes the limits of gamesmanship too far for me. Is there still a FA rule about ungentlemanly conduct or was that kicked out years ago? Just think it's sad and no different to diving or other dishonest ways of getting an advantage....doesn't feel right and I'd be passed off if we did or it was done against us,

If the defenders are switched off there, then they deserve to be made mugs of.

Obviously, otherwise that would make me a hypocrite.
