Very strange goings on.
Rangers say he has resigned-he says he hasn't.

The feeling amongst the Rangers fans I know and work with are that although Warburton's recruitment has not been very impressive (eg- their biggest signing was Garner from Preston who has scored about 3 goals) - the chairman Dave King, who is a dodgy character and has fuck all money - is probably lying and has been plotting to remove Warburton and his expensive backroom team for a while now.
He is not one to look a gift horse in the mouth and this business with forest played into his favour - it looks like warburton thought he was going to get a job there but they stuck with gary brazil
Warburton is saying he never actually resigned.
So this will be yet another protracted legal dispute for Rangers
Dave King is not 'fit and proper' and the situation at Rangers is a joke.
I couldn't help but take offence though at an article in one of the newspapers up here today which compared Rangers today to Celtic under Macari - and compared Joel Garner to Wayne Biggins - I love Macari and Biggins of course - if anyone can post a link to that article I would be very appreciative

When Macari took over at Celtic the mountain he faced was even more insurmountable than what Warburton has encountered
Macari had little or no backing at Celtic (only slightly more money made available to him than at stoke under Peter Coates) and at that time and for years afterwards Rangers, we now know, were breaking tax laws and paying huge amounts of money to attract some of the best players in Europe.
History has harshly judged Lou's tenure at Celtic, he had little chance there.
And Warburton has had little experience before this job whereas Lou had a good track record when he went to Celtic

I doubt managers resign very often because they would lose the big payoff. Except when they leave before they said they would after cashing the check.

I'd say Rangers will be on the hook for a big payout or have to honour his contract.
I think (but ain't no lawyer) that you can withdraw a resignation shortly after its made and still remain in your employment and that's what seems to have happened here
