Really good news about Jack, but I hope we will give Grant a lot of game time the next season as well as he really deserves it! He has been just fantastic since his arrivial! Good on you Lee!

As I've said before, there's no rush. Make sure he has 2 or 3 under 23 games under his belt before we even consider bringing him back into the first team. Wouldn't bother me if he didn't play until next season tbh.

For everyone's peace of mind I think he actually needs to play this season. It's as much a psychological issue as anything. No criticism of Grant intended at all, but smething like the last three games would be great for Jack.

I think if he can get back in the saddle THIS season he will go in to the summer feeling he is already back and all he is just having a normal pre-season like everyone else. Huge mental difference I think.

Everything crossed for Jack, as much as Grant has been a steady stand in, we've missed you.

No rush to get him back.
It'll be brilliant to see him back in our starting XI, and he'll be itching to get out there but I'd be happy to not see him until late April if it means him being fully recovered and fully fit. Needs plenty of youth games first.

I'd give Jack the rest of the season to make sure he's 100%.
Get an oatcake legendary "good pre-season" behind him and ready for next season. He wouldn't come straight in and replace Grant at the moment anyway IMO. Grant's repaid our faith and should get the gig til the end of the season.

Doesn't make sense, its just being overly sentimental about what Granty deserves, Jacks injury needs putting to the test in proper Premier League intensity games. We need to know his ankle is upto it before the end of the season otherwise we end up having to find a keeper in a rush rather than having the Summer to find the most suitable. If he proves his fitness I'd be tempted to go with the two of them next season and a youngster as 3rd choice.

Hopefully he'll come back better and stronger but I'd prefer him to test the ankle with a few U23 games first. Don't really see the need to rush him back to first team football, although I agree with your second point if he breaks down again another keeper is a must. Delicate balancing act required

I don't imagine there is much difference in the intensity between a PL game and a reserve game for a keeper. It's not like he's up and down the pitch. If it was any other position I'd agree with you. They shoot, he saves. He will be training again with our first team which will also help. I don't think we should be risking him at all. I think the club and Jack rushed a little last time out of necessity - we had Haugaard almost throwing them into his own net. That's not the case this season.

Definitely needs some game time this season. Would be another disaster if he broke down after a few games next year
