I have just started Sir Stans book the way it was, only 3 chapters in but really enjoying it so far. refreshing to hear how it used to be for a footballer, and not the pampered bunch we see nowadays. It may just be me, as an older cynic(?), but I've always treated books by footballers (and cricketers, rugby players etc) with a touch of scepticism. With all autobiographies, it's just one person's version of events and that doesn't necessarily make it 'the truth'. However, they can scarcely send a proof copy to all those mentioned to see if they agree with what's in the book!
