Hate twitter sometimes, when idiots get likes for spouting rubbish they know nothing about. Bollocks to any notion that Bojan didn't succeed at Stoke in the first place and it was certainly not because of a lack of hard work. /rantover Haha, not exactly young as well is he?

Christ, they're on form today. This is the thin end of the wedge from Hughes. He made a team that played attractive football and this should be one of his last acts in dismantling that team and reverting to what came before. This has to be his last season. The last 18 months have been atrocious to watch and it's just not good enough. Good luck Bojan, you'll be missed. A bit of perspective for you: 28 points at this stage is only a point behind our best-ever season, where we ended up with 54 points. Perspective isn't in his dictionary. Knee jerk and knicker wetting are however....

It does make you question the sanity in the minds of the management team when they give Crouch an extra year and then ship Bojan out of the door. New contracts for Adam and Walters to follow. It's absolutely crazy what happening. We sign a bloke who thrives on through balls and get rid of the only player we have centrally who can play them. Oh well.

He's no idiot, he knows this is the last chance saloon for his career.
But that is still a chance
Hope he can do well there
Good luck to him :-)

Disappointed to see him go, I'd have preferred him to stay and earn his way back into the team. I find this loan move really strange, aren't Mainz a mid level German team? Can they afford his wages or are we subbing part? Were there no teams of a "higher calibre" than this lot interested in him? At least I don't have to eat my left nut as he didn't go to Celtic They're not a bad outfit, could say they are very comparable to stoke. spent some recent time in Europe and we're even pushing champions league spots until late on last season. hope we see him again but it's unlikely. I will never forget his moments of magic vs spurs and arsenal in particular. bit of a sad day to be fair.

I would disagree on kicking him out, but it's very much similar to what Pulis did at the end of his reign. Brought in class, style (or relatively so) in people like Adam and Nzonzi. Worked for a while, then as soon as he hit a tiny run of poor form, reverted completely to type and ditched all the skill and craft. Halfway through last season we were playing the best football I've ever seen a Stoke team play, and it genuinely felt like we were contenders for Europe. fast forward 12 months and Hughes has loaned out one of our most creative and stylish players, and effectively replaced him with a midfield battler in Joe Allen. I love Joe but he's we're not going to be playing free flowing football with him as a number 10. My only clinging hope is that Hughes has recognised that Berahino won't be match fit for a long time, he's decided to just get to the end of this season by battling, and he's told Boj 'come back next season, we'll play football again.'

A loan is hopefully good for Bojan and better for Stoke in the long run

Very strange
Steven Ireland is the only recognised number 10 in that squad for me now.
Joe Allen, the one man pressing unit it becoming ineffective as he does the work for the stand snouts that play behind him.
The dream of seeing Allen, affellay and bojan in a midfield 3 is over.
Strange decision, should we be losing players of his quality who are fit? Who are we bringing in that's better?
Feels like another in a long list of transfer fuck ups

Unless he has worked out that Shaq's best position is number 10 with Sobhi out on the wing?
Oh well, Walters it is

Points to a change in style and formation by Hughes permanently. I can't see us signing a replacement and Bojan hasn't been playing much anyway. Maybe we will go with 2 strikers and a traditional 4 man midfield after all

More dull than last season and that was fucking dull. You want the manager to leave halfway through the season when we could quite reasonably have an excellent second half, and have our best ever season? How does that make any sense? Large parts of last year were terrible, but it's not like he hasn't demonstrated the capacity to play good football more often than not. And the loaning (not selling I might add) of Bojan hardly means Berahino isn't going to thrive. We have players with his skillset.

Unfortunately for the little fella our best number 10 this year has been asked to press high up and basically be our first defender, Bojan isn't that sort of player so has gone missing during games and been left out the side as a result. Maybe if he was in the false 9 role it may have been a different story..Worth the gamble but sadly the Knee injury has ruined his stoke career...Thanks for everything Bojan lad, all the best!!

Great for all parties. He'll hopefully get back to his best and will start more games. If he does, we get him back and will have saved a few grand in the process. Good luck Bojan, I'll be looking forward to seeing how you progress.

If he wasn't such a pretty boy would we be seeing this overreaction ?..Wish the lad the luck , but his cameo performance against Wolves finished it off for me..He didn't look interested !!!
Right, ...time to put the pork chops in the oven..

Odd move TBH - can imagine Stoke will be paying a fair percent of his wages too so does not really make much financial sense I hope he does well, not to rub Hughes' nose in it but to get his confidence back. With Mainz' league position I doubt he'll have European football as an incentive to stay but as others have said I think the only way he'll be back in our shirt will be if Hughes is shown the door in the summer Wonder if Shaq is next? The BMX may soon be a unicycle
