That's not the sound of someone who plans on coming back.

I look forward to watching the increasingly tiring Joel Allen plod along in the number ten role for the rest of the season. At least get his name right before slagging him off. I haven't slagged anyone off, he's clearly looking leggy due to his Summer excursions and being a one man pressing unit. He's wasted playing in his current role.

Strange move and I think we've seen the last of him in our team sadly

Whose fault will it be when he fails in Germany? No doubt he will fall back on the loan excuse and how difficult it is when you don't actually belong somewhere.

Very very disappointing
I had a glimmer of hope that him and Saido would form one of the best partnerships of all time
At least it's not to another premier league club, I couldn't handle that
I wish him all the best as he's been nothing but a positive asset to the club and raised our profile globally, along side creating some of the best footballing magic I've ever seen at stoke
I hope he comes back!

Best move for everyone I think.
He needs games and we're as guilty as anyone for not having enough patience with him when he does play.
Good on Bojan, not going to cause us any mither by playing in Germany and hopefully he'll rip the league apart and come back as his former self who everyone loved.
Olé Boj........see you soon!

Gutted he's left the boys a genius and the most naturally gifted scorer we have.

"see you soon".. how does that sound like someone who's not coming back? I hope he does well and comes back with confidence for next season. I think it's right for all parties he's been allowed to go on loan.

At least it's a loan.
Still pretty disgraceful from Hughes though.

Hate twitter sometimes, when idiots get likes for spouting rubbish they know nothing about. Bollocks to any notion that Bojan didn't succeed at Stoke in the first place and it was certainly not because of a lack of hard work.

Not a chance he'll play for us again whilst Hughes is in charge. Leaves some great memories not least in that game against Arsenal where he was the best player on the pitch by an absolute mile. Good luck Señor.

Disappointed to see him go, I'd have preferred him to stay and earn his way back into the team. I find this loan move really strange, aren't Mainz a mid level German team? Can they afford his wages or are we subbing part? Were there no teams of a "higher calibre" than this lot interested in him? At least I don't have to eat my left nut as he didn't go to Celtic

Christ, they're on form today.
This is the thin end of the wedge from Hughes. He made a team that played attractive football and this should be one of his last acts in dismantling that team and reverting to what came before.
This has to be his last season. The last 18 months have been atrocious to watch and it's just not good enough.
Good luck Bojan, you'll be missed.

It does make you question the sanity in the minds of the management team when they give Crouch an extra year and then ship Bojan out of the door. New contracts for Adam and Walters to follow.

Isn't Afellay our natural next number 10? I am not completely convinced by him there personally. I think we need to start playing 4-3-3 like we did the season before last, it will get the best out of players like Affelay, Allen, Adam and Imbula though it really does require Whelan to be playing a 7/10 every game. Hopefully Cameron will be back soon and can help him out.

Got to be realistic here - he has had problems establishing himself at a mid-table PL team after having completely failed to establish himself at a series of top level continental clubs. It's a good opportunity for the bloke that he has really got to take.

A bit of perspective for you: 28 points at this stage is only a point behind our best-ever season, where we ended up with 54 points.
