If we were considering a circa 20Mill for Berahino a few months ago, then this has got to be 30 - 35 plus 80 - 100K a week...

Always wondered why he was allowed to leave the league. Fantastic player, though we do have Bojan that I see as a very similar type of forward that isn't utilized.

He'll be great for 5 games until he makes one mistake and is then replaced with Walters.
Yes I'm still bitter.

He's going to do absolutely nothing but put the ball in the back of the net though (of which he is of course very, very good at), it will be that and only that though, not at all sure he would work as a single man leading the line in the Premiership.
Having said that, I think that potentially he and Bony could make an absolutely devastating partnership but to see that work it would mean a whole rethink about the rest of the team and tactics.

If available and interested (big if) Stoke should be all over this one.

He has suffered a huge drop off in form this season with only 5 goals to his name. To be fair his club have also under performed. Do we know why he's so poor this season compared to last the season? The Hernandez of last season would be great to have but the under performer of this season might not. We already have our quota of under performing strikers. Trouble is Leverkusen will be looking for far more than the £7.5 million they paid for him so he isn't going to be cheap. Given that he is 4 years older than Berahino and the (hopefully) lower price for Berahino, I'm thinking he might be less of a risk in financial terms.

Yeah, I agree. Considering Hughes' current about-turn with team selection to focus on 'physicality' I don't see why he'd play him and not Bojan. I would love him to come here though.

Brilliant striker but does very little in the build up. Don't see who in the Stoke set up would provide him with his chances but I suppose Defoe manages it at Sunderland.

Totally agree. It's clear that if Bony is to stay, which i'm OK with, then the setup needs an overhaul. Bony has not just become a poor striker overnight and someone like Chicharito would be sweet.

He's 28 and not pulling up any trees , 8-10 million should do it for a player reaching the end of his career

Could he work in the 3412 Hughes dished up on Tuesday?

'He's going to do absolutely nothing but put the ball in the back of the net' being sarcastic: that's why we should sign him If we have a goalscorer who everyone believes in will raise everyone's game one (only one) of the reasons we have had heavy defeats is when we have gone behind some/many of our players have (in some games) given up. Any football team that has a goalscorer behaves differently, you go a goal behind you don't give up because you know the guy at the other end can get you back in the game German league is not that different re the speed & power of the game & he's played here before.

Got to be suspicious that he's lost a bit of motivation by this stage of a career that's failed to deliver on its initial promise. We would probably just be the next pay cheque for 12 months.

Hughes would have to completely change the way we set up to fit him in and thats not going to happen, so it would be a no from me.

Hmmm ... maybe, but I was thinking you'd need proper wingers, well at least one anyway.
If you had proper (and I mean proper) wing backs then maybe it would work but your '1' behind the front two would have to be prepared to track back like a Trojan.
That's quite a lot of new players.
