Nothing weird about us being 9th. West Brom in 6th is a different matter altogether. The Smethwick PHWs will be in hiding at the minute. Here's hoping they do a Hull (of a few years back) and go into freefall after Christmas! and Newcastle, and Palace (both with Pardew), and Stoke it has to be said in TP's last season. At Christmas that season we were sitting 8th and could have gone 5th the next match if all the results had gone right, but we lost and went on a dreadful run. That happens a lot of times to clubs who run out of steam or lose players to injury and suspension; we only retained 9th last season because other teams results below us were as poor as ours. It is quite clear MH likes to spread the effort over the whole season, but last season it went wrong for us because of injuries. If we can get all our players fit for the second half of the season, we could have a strong finish and achieve 6th. Leicester showed the season before last that it is also possible to go the other way and climb the table. BUT, the team need better support from the fans than they got yesterday. |
