Twisted Sister were a strange proposition but an excellent live act and an interesting backstory from their club days. I emailed their management a few years ago about possibility of releasing some tapes of a show I thought they'd recorded as an official release and was surprised them JJ French the guitarist replied, and then penny dropped he was also the band's manageer. Nice guy and exchangwd emails a number of times

The documentary had alot about the clubs they were making thousands of dollars a night playing 2 or 3 times a week locally in front of big crowds but record companies wouldnt touch them, Atlantic in particular had a ban in place from their CEO in the end they inked a deal with music for nations and lined up a european tour only for MFN to go bankrupt on the eve, in the end Atlantic UK signed them and the rest was history. They came across as pretty nice guys in the documentary too.

Yes that's true about Atlantic who then had a sea change , and having Lemmy's patronage really helped them , they also worked with the late great Pete Way as producer.. a band of their time but when the records stopped selling the live shows were still brilliant. There's footage on YouTibe of them at the 82 Reading Festival and it's brilliant, to say Dee could work a crowd is an understatement

Thoroughly enjoyable documentary on Alan Hull and Lindisfarne last night on BBC3. I must admit to knowing very little about him. Presented by the incredibly likeable Sam Fender with contributions from Sting, Mark Knofler and Elvis Costello.

The finest Docu rocku mockumentary ever made. Neil Innes was a genius. The new Beatles documentary is fantastic, the last hour is so good. Still nowhere near as good as the Rutles.😂

Geezer Butler was the bass player - I think you meant "Bill Ward - what a drummer!" I know it was four years ago but I've not forgotten or forgiven Well spotted…… That Ozzy bloke was a good guitarist as well !! (I blame my dimentia ) Is dimentia when you lost all your ten cent coins?

Still nowhere near as good as the Rutles.😂 Yeah you can see where The Beatles got their influence from.... Although once Dylan introduced them to tea they got involved with all that peace and love crap. Ron, Dirk, Stig and Barry... The Pre Fab Four 👍

The new 4 part Stones documentary kicked off last night featuring Mick Jagger it seemed like a refreshingly open and honest appraisal of the Stones. Interviewer: Have you got a good voice. Jagger... No Loved the bit where they were asking Tina Turner and her backing group about his dancing. One said he came backstage and asked us to show him our dance moves and said something like bless him he tried Can't remember which black American artist was discussing him but said that listening to Jagger speak was like listening to a true English gent but then he starts singing and it's like a black man singing the blues. Should be interesting when they feature Keef.

The Thin Lizzy one is decent is that on Sky Arts? I wanted to love it, I thought it was dull as ditchwater. A missed opportunity in my opinion.
