No I may have been a bit slow here but when did it come out that Boskamp only has a 12 month contract? I was under the impression it was a two + one deal but it now appears due to his Radio Stoke interview and Taggs' comments in the Sentivale that he could well be off at the end of the season if something isn't sorted. It has been suggested to me that much of the problems are a smokescreen with the real agenda being to get Rudge out but with the news that Boskamp is only on a 12 month deal I'm not sure what the score is now. Anyone out there "in the know" a bit more than me?

As far as I know, it's a two year contract - he's six months into it - Apparently; he's offered to resign at the end of the season if the rift wit JdK and Rudge isn't resolved

That's what I thought mate but in his latest interview he clearly states he is only on a one year deal.

When the row happened his contract was cut to a one year one ending at the end of May 2006. Whether this was Bozzie or the board who suggested it we have no idea.

It does ring a bell Forny, but I wasn't sure if it had been made official or not.

Well the club never announced it officially - but both sides (Tony Scholes and Bozzie) have referred to the contract now running until next summer in their statements in recent weeks.

So basically we are in the same position as this time last season - not knowing what the fuck is going on! We are currently 7th and anyone with half a brain can see that other than the top two (who aren't THAT good but are consistent) this league is shit and places 3-6 are up for grabs. If the manager is allowed to bring in a few decent new faces in January we could have the best chance of making the play-offs since Lou took us there on a shoe-string. Despite all our obvious inadequecies we are still challenging for the play-offs at the half way point and we only have to obtain a slighty better return in the next 23 games than we have so far to be in the mix come May. Surely this is the time for the board to take charge and give the club the stability it needs by securing the managers future for at LEAST the next season so we can build and move forward. At Boskamps age we know even if he does well he won't be around forever (not many manage past 60 odd) but if he does stay for two or three years and groomes Tagg's into a candidate then that is the sort of continuity that we desperately need. I like Boskamp even though he puzzles me at times and I do feel he is a little naive defensively and a stubborn sod to boot, I do feel that with a few additions we could be a decent side though. The time for positive leadership is now and although they have let us down in the past on issues such as these I'm sure strong actions from the board could unite the club and take us upwards.

It is his decision. The board want him to stay. It is Bozzie who is saying that he won't work with Rudgey or Jan. If he likes Stoke so much surely he would have accepted their apology and buried the hatchet by now?

Well he has stated in the media that he wants a five year deal so I would suggest the ball is in the boards court now Forny?

Well it is in their hands in the sense that if they sack Rudgey and Jan he'll sign an extension. And it is in his hands in that he could drop the insistance on having them sacked and sign the extension.
Maybe they are just not prepared to find the money for the compensation for Jan and Rudgey knowing that htye will have to go out and replace them both?
