I've got everything separate mate - tiscali (internet), Sky (tv), BT (phone) but am looking to swap to Virgin - i've heard they're not that bad and pretty cheap aswell.
Perhaps somebody could clarify if they are good/bad?

Virgin's signal degredation is legendary. Steer clear.
Sky & BT is your best bet. I use an ISP called Force9 who i have found to be absolutely excellent over the years. Superb custoemr service and regular updates. Cannot recomment them highly enough.

VM internet via cable is excellent - always runs at full speed VM customer service is shockingly bad

myleftboot - they are part of PlusNet, but there hasn't been a noticeable dip in Customer Service.
Fuck me, they e-mail every fortnight to ask how everything is...cannot ask for more.

Been with NTL/Virgin for the last 18 months. No real problems-the phone packed up 4 about a week but soon sorted. The broadband has been fine, though I have noticed that the news service/sport since they started to allie themselves with Setanta has been -how can we put it?-shite!

Oh the TV's been fine as well.Though on a couple of occasions the digibox has stuck on a certain channel-and turning it off/on again and then waiting for a couple of minutes-has been the only way to sort it out!Apart from that, fine.

Been on Virgin (cable) broadband for about 4 months - apart from one "outage" (a couple of weeks ago) no problems, more than happy, much better than Orange, who were awful!

I'm with Be, it's a subsidiary of O2 so it's got a name behind it, good customer service (or what I've dealt with) and fast speeds. Was with Tiscali who I would never touch with a barge pole now.

Ben, I think your problem will be getting anyone to install it in less than 14 days, BT wont jump through hoops for these company's when they have there own Broadband. Company's like Bethere and UK Online have there own kit in BT Exchanges so they may also have access to them, this may speed the install up as they might be able to bypass BT, using one of those may speed things up. Try this web site www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php it will tell you who has what installed in your local BT Exchange, look for companys who have LLU (Local Loop Unbundling) next to there name, these are the ones who can bypass BT. More on LLU here www.ofcom.org.uk/media/mofaq/telecoms/bb_faq/
