I have now clocked in as a Stoke fan for 55 years as of yesterday, my brother brought me down for Stan`s return and have ever since have been smitten by the bug. Seen a few high`s and a more than a few low`s over the year`s` but would not hesitate to pin my flag to the mast again,we may not win much but when we do it tastes good like a real vintage wine Thanks Stoke for many happy memories.

50 years for me, though I did go a few games 1958 onwards but not a real supporter until 1966.

I don't know how some of you remember your exact first game. I haven't got a clue. I doubt my Son can remember his either, as memory serves he spent far more time scrawling about under the seats than watching any football. I can remember my first season ticket. It was Durban's promotion season and I can remember we got promoted with Crystal Palace and Brighton but can't remember any of the actual games. Is it just matters Stoke that you have such clear memories about or do you people have perfect recall.

I am infallible more generally though as well. ;-)

Couldn't even tell you who it was against without looking it up.

My dad always said that when he first took me (I'd have been 5 or 6 years old), I just ran up and down messing with the seats, pulling them down then watching them flirt back up - they were simpler times! I can't remember my first match which is a real shame. So I always class my first game where I genuinely got the bug and started supporting the club. That was the match v Ajax when I was 10. I remember that magic feeling when we scored, and I just instincively jumped up to celebrate without even knowing why. Thankfully, there's no forgetting my daughter's first match. Sat down, whistle went, 13 seconds later Bego's only gone and scored. Couldn't believe it. She's barely sat down and seen something I'd not seen in over 40 years supporting the club.

Home game vs Burnley in 1963. 3-0 up at half time, early in second half Eddie Clamp stuck the nut on their winger John Connelly and walked. Down to ten men gave them the upper hand and the game ended 4-4 when Tony Allen scored an own goal for their last equaliser. What is their to forget about a game like that. Funnily enough our next home game vs Sheffield Wed ended same score after we had led 3-1 at half time. Remember Ritchie scored a hat trick in that game. In those early days of our return to Div 1 we were pulling in crowds in excess of 30 k every week
