What a massive game this is.Only a win will be enough imo anything less and I think Mr Coates will have no option but to show LMH the door.

I would have agreed if we hadn't got anything on Sunday, but I think he's earned a bit more time.

A draw wont be good enough and lose would be catastrophic but I'm backing the draw. They didn't drop their heads when going one down at Old Trafford, that's to their credit but who is going to score the goals to actually win games now ?
Hughes still has to rely on two players well into their 30's to help rescue things-both Tony Pulis signings.
A striker himself and a very good one in his heyday. Hughes hasn't signed ONE decent out-and-striker yet for Stoke.
What he has done is spend about 50 million quid on midfielders. Would you trust him with YOUR wallet Now ?
When you look back and see Ricardo was signed for about one month of Wilf's wages. You can see how horribly distorted player values have become.

MH has definitely earned more time. The last 3 games have seen an improving team come out with more fight and belief, getting better every game. I was one of the 700 on Bloody Sunday at Palace, and was at Manure Sunday. The change I have witnessed is nothing short of unbelievable. Stop your dripping and get on board. We'll beat Sunderland if we play like we did against Hull, WBA or Manure and kick on this season. Like we did last season. We'll beat Hull, and we'll probably beat Swansea. Honestly, cheer the fuck up. We've just taken a point of Man U by battling and scrapping and showing the fight we all wanted to see. If turning what we saw at Palace into what we saw on Sunday doesn't prove MH's credentials then I honestly don't know what does. I was calling for his head too after Palace, but the improvement has been remarkable IMO, as he very nearly lost that dressing room. He aint going anywhere.

Be honest, if we win the next 3 games most of you lot will be campaigning for Hughes to get the freedom of the city!
Support the team AND the manager. Who else is out there?

What a massive game this is.Only a win will be enough imo anything less and I think Mr Coates will have no option but to show LMH the door. Some of the calls for MH to be fired were premature even after the Palace game. With players coming back into the side, new players to be integrated and a bit of experimentation with the formation and line up going on, it wasn't going to be perfect straightaway.
We got caught late on against Manchester City after competing with them well. Boro was a decent result, Everton away we were a bit unlucky. Spurs was a poor performance, but for half an hour we were good again. The game was up at Palace after a quarter of an hour as we tried and failed with zonal marking at set plays.
I'm not sure we were quite as bad as the results suggest. The Palace scoreline was the surprise that got everybody panicking.
Now the dust has settled we are starting to look a decent side. There is still plenty of room for improvement and I think we will see more options tried out in midfield.
After the last 3 performances though, to suggest that MH should leave if we don't beat Sunderland is hysterical, ridiculous and wrong in my opinion.

Only on the Oatcake can you go from 1 thread about Shawcross having Ibra in his pocket & Allen having Pogba in his pocket to Hughes to be sacked if we don't win on another thread. Madness.

Spot on mate. Being reaslistic is what many don't want to grasp just cheap digs and the lack of respect shown to MH is a disgrace after the previous 3 top ten finishes!

We've got one that scored 11 league goals 2 years ago despite missing a month of football, albeit Hughes has completely lost faith in him.

It's a results business! I think we were lucky on Sunday but got the result. If we lose against Sunderland then Hughes is bang in trouble. Win and we have turned the corner! That's life as a football manager. 3 points from 7 is shocking. He'll be gone if it continues. Hopefully it won't !

I honestly think Sparky has the season to sort this fucker out.
3 top half finishes give him that right and anyway he's the only person who knows how it's all supposed to wot!

I'm not advocating a change but if we're still in the mire come January just as two of our strikers are off to ACON, we may have no option but to seek salvation from another manager before the window closes.

You've missed the point though, it isn't just this season why people are talking about maybe having him replaced, it isn't something thats suddenly happened.
