I don't think we will, but if we did, there are a few players who will not want to be here, Butland, Arnie, Shaq, Boyan, plus a few others I would think. Who do you think would say "Fuck you Stoke, I want away"?

Butland - Sold Johnson - Sold Shaqiri - Sold Bojan - Sold Arnautovic - Sold Imbula - Sold Allen - Sold Diouf - Sold
You'd make a case for Bardsley. Shawcross. Muniesa. Cameron. Affelay, Adam, Whelan, Ireland, Sobhi, Crouch and Walters to stay on.

One good thing about it. Most of the players that would be sold are on long term big contracts so won't be sold on the cheap.

I will only entertain the thought of relegation after Saturday, before then I'm not going to consider it a possibility. What I will say is, we need a massive overhaul whatever happens. Players like Walters, Whelan, Ireland, Crouch, Cameron etc fucking etc need replacing.

I don't think the Coates family would bank roll their wages if we go down, we would have to restructure the squad anyway.
Thinking of going down is something the Coates family won't be contemplating.
They will give Hughes a few games more and then bring somebody in to turn it around before its to late.
If Hughes turns it around or they bring in some one new, they will be aggressive in the market when the window opens to ensure relegation does not become a reality.
I HOPE !!!!!

If you go down and I don't think for one minute you will! You will find out just how well your club is run, a lot of clubs outside the top 4-6 when signing high profile players from abroad do not insist on relegation clauses for fear of losing targets due to a perception of lack of ambition and then if the unthinkable happens and you go down and can't shift players your stuck with them on big money !

The reason the Coates family won't be contemplating relegation is that it would cost them a fortune 1)in the one-off relegation hit and 2)in on-season by season losses due to a massive reduction in t.v. monies i.e. running costs. It was the Coates family who wanted a self-sufficiency model with an Academy part funding player acquisitions. We'll see how self-sufficient SCFC could be without Rupert Murdoch's Sky monies subsidising everything!

How are your lot doing... Don't really get much coverage here, but saw that Newcastle started terrible, then put a run together. Whats yr home crowds like, and indeed yr away followers, and is the atmosphere batter than your holocaust last season.

New ideas and motivation are needed

It's not easy to get rid of players who are no good, and if we were relagated they must of been no good. Butland hope he would get a top club. Johnson would stay near end of his career Arnie nobody wanted to pay decent money this year, would go abroad. Imbula lucky to get 3 million Diouf no takers Shaqiri injury prone lucky if we got 3 milloin Bojan back to Spain 2million Allen back to Swansea were he wanted to go but agent got a bigger cut him coming to Stoke.

On the pitch a slow start with massive changes P8 W1 D5 L2 PTS 8 18th position,3 points from the bottom 3, 6 points from the playoffs early days but must start turning draws into wins As for off the pitch crowds holding up so far we've had 4 home games 35,000,34,000,30,000 and 29,000, away support top class sold out all allocations so far including upcoming at Preston 5,600, sheffield wed 4,600(asked for more but no) first Sunday game, so fan wise good atmosphere much better as we actually think we might win some this season, still got all our WM derbies to come yet so looking at 38,000 for blues and wolves at home, plus of course our boxing day bonanza home to Burton ,how the mighty have fallen

WBA lost and he's gone imo.
I love what MH has brought to our club, however you would think if we lose against WBA his pride would make him walk.

Who do you think would say "Fuck you Stoke, I want away"? We're displaying relegation form but no-ones been relegated in September FFS. I'd rather devote the limited amount of brain space that i have to considering what we do about preventing it rather than considering the consequences of it.

Right now I can see other teams wanting to buy butland, Arnie, allen, and that's it. I'm sure we'd offload Shaq. Bojan, diouf, sobhi, and the rest are here for the long haul regardless. Including possibly Imbula as we will not be lifting him go for less than 15 million or so and I can't see any takers.
I think we'd be quite well placed to batter that league.

IF the sky falls ...... IF the Ruskies drop a nuke on London IF the bubonic plague sweeps through the world Etc.... Etc....
Let's worry about who we sell when we are in that situation. In the meantime the negativity round here is threatening to become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
