As long as we don't lose I'm happy, we didn't win any the games last year which we have played already, and nothing from this fixture so a point I'm happy with (I'd like to say a decent performance is a must though) We beat Everton 4-3 last season and man city 2-0

Time will tell on that one Kevin Friend is also the 4th official. It gets better.

I predict a dodgy decision to go in our favour Away win,Bony to score. Backed up by beating TP in his last Albion match.

It been delayed for some reason, refs usually announced on a Monday. Perhaps struggling with finding ten who haven't made game changing errors. Best start looking in the Sunday morning leagues then!!!

If Johnson is fit would anyone be tempted to play him on the left and Bardsley on the right? I would.

It's irrelevant who the ref is. We need to take responsibility for how things are going.
I'd be tempted to put 2 midfielders in front of the back 4 to shore things up (bring back the cage if you like). That'd mean somebody like Geoff alongside Whelan.
And bring back Bojan.

Our record with Imbula in the starting 11 in the league is terrible. Last year our record was 5 wins, 6 losses, 3 draws. He never played against Leicester City, Arsenal, or Man United last year. This year our record is 3 losses and 1 draw in league games that he start.
Our record with Bojan in the starting 11 in the league last year was 10 wins, 7 losses, 5 draws. This year 1 loss and 1 draw.
I think Bojan needs to play and Imbula needs to sit.

Might sound ridiculous but I disagree. We need a decent performance, a defeat (unless another 4-0!) would not be the end of the world. We need the players to put a shift in and create enough chances that we can get something from the game.

I wouldn't mind seeing a fit Charlie Adam in there, the one who came onto the pitch on Saturday however would be more useful as a concrete bollard.

Allen can do it for Wales he can for Stoke. Adam can do it next to either Whelan or Geoff and those two can do it without the two befoe but for godsake Hughes. Choose between Imbula or Bojan just behind Bony. If neither works out change it 60-65mins. Use your damn bench.

--------------Grant---------------------
Johnson--Shawcross--Indi--Pieters
-------Cameron----Allen-------
Arnautovic---Bojan----Ramadan
-------------Bony--------------
That's my pick - Geoff is bigger, more athletic and faster than Glenn Whelan, Bojan is a number 10 and Imbula is neither better there nor better than Allen as a box to boxer. Ramadan deserves the chance to show what he can do as we know the limitations of Walters on the wing.

With Shaq out I think most of us are going for the same front four of
Sobhi Bojan Arnie Bony
Hopefully Hughes will agree too

Bojan oozes that, Geoff and Allen both can bring it forward well and offer some defensive qualities. I'd possibly change Imbula for Bojan second half or change Adam/Whelan for Geoff if we got the lead away, but in a nutshell that is a good balanced lineup. Much better than the shit on show lately if only the RB's can stay healthy and Walters is no where near the RW but CF for a substitute only.

Without knowing who will get injured between now and then who do you go with and how do you set up. 4-2-3-1
GK - Given RB - Cameron CB - Shawcross CB - Indi LB - Pieters DCM - Allen CM - Adam ACM - Bojan RW - Arnautovic LW - Sobhi CF - Bony
SUBS GK Imbula Muniesa Diouf Ngoy Whelan/Bardsley Crouch
Thought about leaving out Shawcross (Been avg at best, though people on here don't seem to see it), with Cameron playing centrally with more pace and Bardsley on the outside and likewise Muniesa for Pieters with a bit more technical ability to go forward. With Palace being good from set pieces I went with a few bigger bodies to try to combat it. Allen plays as a deeper midfielder for Wales and does it well, giving Adam an opportunity to add a little grit in there but worry about his athleticism to do the work both ways, but has quality to pick a pass with his left peg. Would give Sobhi a start, purely as no one else has put a shift in to take the wide spot and I think Bojan needs to play the next 5 games with Bony to see if they can get anything going. Arnautovic makes up my 11 and if he limited his Baltic like sulks to zero and just put a shift in for the games entirety he may just surprise himself with how good he could be, instead of glimpses here and there.
