Really pleased with this signing, I fully expect him to be utilised as a Whelan upgrade but maybe changed about depending on the opposition with the ever dependable Glenn ready to step in as and when required.

God news - a deal completed swiftly too (did someone kidnap Scholes over the weekend???). It's taken 8 years, but we have finally signed Whelan's genuine competition (Palacios and Arismendi don't count!). A good passer, a terrier with a good engine, proven at this level, just come off a good international tournament, mid-20s with best years ahead of him - a job well done.

I never quite understood why an Israelite with a Spanish name only had friends who all had English names. they were early adopters of the international stag do, and just let some really sound youth knock around with them for a bit doing party tricks to keep them amused #ChristDoIFeelBadInTheMorning Water -> Wine etc. Plausible. |

Im presuming he would be holding, to allow Imbula more licence to get forward??
Id like a few more goals coming from the middle of the park whether that be Imbula or Allen. Not that its really hisjob but that seemed to dry up for Glenn - he certainly has it in his locker once

The only thing with Charlie is he seems the one player willing to take a shot from distance and actually able to hit the target/score; its a bit of a shame when you only have the one player who seems willing & able to do that. I don't want to lose him until think we've increased our goal scoring prowess

Used to think he was utter dog shit.
He has undoubtedly improved over the past 12 to 18 months though. And he's bulked up too, which will add lots to his game in itself (as simplistic as it sounds).
He could be a very good signing for us. Assuming he's been signed to play the Whelan role?

I enjoyed every minute of Wales at the Euros - no bitterness here

Imbula likes a pop at goal too and will hopefully add a few to the tally this season. Get in a striker who plays regularly and can aim for 15 or more for the season and that gap could be easily filled. |
