Have one of the richest chairman but still we seem to be looking at and being associated with the same type of players every year ? Needs to be at least 4 major signings to kick the club on and that also attracts other players?

I'm looking forward to six months time and being enlightened by the fact that our star signings need a preseason with us and we we'll see the best of them next year.
It IS early but it would be nice to get a top target or two in before we kick off in August?

Can I just ask for your thoughts on this one. McCormack at Fulham. Sheffield Wednesday after him and Fulham have put a 15 million price tag on him. I don't watch many other teams. How good is he, as he scores quite a lot of goals! Would he be good enough for us?

The targets we go after most likely say maybe to joining us,but hope that a CL or Europa team will come along and sign them up.Im sure we are 2nd choice for many targets. That the problem of trying to better our selves,so are the players.

Would people rather we tried to sign Deeney for £30million or Ighalo at £40million.

I don't understand, we've pushed on since Hughes arrived, transfer wise, league position wise, academy wise..
You mean because we haven't rushed through signings and we don't get taken for mugs? We've got big footballing names here already which will influence other players, we just want the right players
Sparky won't let us down

'Still not exactly pushing on' ????????????????????????????????
I actually laughed out loud at the original post
how breathtakingly short sighted !
last few transfers busted the clubs record
£10n Crouch - £12m shakiri -£18m Imbulla
and we are not pushing on ?????????????????????????
wages too -
clubs best player last season was a free transfer as well (AFELLAY) - does it get any bettr ? something for nothing ?
we're obviously paying the wages too
the lack of patience and balanced judgement in our 'simpler' suppport is frankly - laughable

Pushing on doesn't worry me as much as maintaining what we have got. The PL is a nightmare - billionaire's from every corner of the globe can't wait to have their little dabble resulting in all manner of clubs having short term spending power like never before. Long term might be a very different story and I can see some clubs imploding big style ( unless the dreaded franchise / no relegation system is introduced). We have a healthy ownership structure taking the long term view and ,although it can be quite frustrating to see the like of Palace strutting their stuff , we have to hold our nerve and take sensible decisions that keep us competitive without putting things at risk. The real problem is our dismal performance is producing young talent ( and there has been plenty of time now), if we could get that right then we would be pretty much on track.

pushing on is a lot to ask
to do better than 9th we presumably have to recruit players good enough to play for the top 8
that is going to be hard ! But good luck to Sparky and co

Who hasn't lived up to expectation? Shaqiri for one. Marko first season? Marko didn't improve that much in his second season until the second half of it and Shaq has struggled at the Euro's. Fair? The only player that I can think of that genuinely struggled and improved halfway through his first season was Bojan, and even then most of that was put down to physical fitness and strength. Bojan joined during Pre Season. I'm not convinced that signing players late has affected us with Hughes and I'm convinced it was nothing more than an excuse under the last manager.

The Berahino deal is a key one. If it comes to mid July and we've missed out on our two main attacking targets to a rival, I think its right that questions will be asked.

Agreed, we also have a new pitch and a new sign on the front of the ground come start of the season, should imagine that will keep us lot happy

Not convinced by him at all, so no clue what PC and MH think of him. The earth won't stop spinning if someone else (who exactly?) buys him for 20m.
