Despite this I would like to see someone younger brought in with more pace as well. Maybe one who who could score 3-4 goals a season too. I still think Glen is very good at closing gaps and his positioning is mostly spot on, but an upgrade would be ace!  |

Glenn was my MoM today.
Always available for the ball, never afraid to put his foot in, constantly moving about the pitch and that goal line clearance was world class.

Have worked with a lot of Irish lads in the building trade, especially building the M6 stretch Sandbach northwards. Give them a shovel and a hole to dig, then stand back. The effing shovels glow red with work. Whelan reminds me of those lads. He is indefatigable. Works his socks of even when all seems lost. Not our best player talent wise, but what an example for those that want to try, and play from the heart.
