I agree with most of those being expensive flops, but to be fair to Johnson, he has been pretty good for Stoke when fit. He's had the odd dodgy game, but in the main we are better with him than without.

Can't think of one dodgy game, I was waiting for him to make a colossal fuckup every game when he first arrived and I'm still waiting now. Fantastic player and only looked shit because of the utter lack of support he received on the wing at Liverpool.

Agree with all except Johnson. But I'm biased. Every Villa and Newcastle player should be on there. No fight in either team!
Also to add, agree 1000% with sterling the money grabbing whore he is.

Makes for quite an interesting read. One thing that stands out after last nights results is that Newcastle and Villa are saddled with more than a significant wage bill which you'd assume they are going to want to trim significantly. Some most definitely OVER paid meanwhile others you could class as WELL paid. Then it's a matter of opinion who falls into which category. Introduce a Performance related criteria and then the nit picking can really start.

We've had our fair share since promotion........Palacios being the stand out player for stealing a wage.

Got to be made up figures anyway. Surely that Galloway at Everton isn't on £70k a week!!

Falcao has been about £300k a week better off for the last 2 seasons.
I don't even remember the last time he played!

They're all overpaid, they've done well to narrow it down to 35.

We should have a salary cap like the NFL(and pretty much every american sport). It's just getting out of hand now, this has to stop somewhere.
It would make the league more competitive and stop the game from getting further and further away from the people it's meant for.....US!

Some of those wages are suspect. Mirallas 127,000 a week? Brendan Galloway 60,000? James Milner is always good value and was signed on a free so probably got higher wages because of that.
It's the big earners at the so called top 4 who are the disgrace! Schweinsteiger, Falcao for example and squad players wasting the prime years of their life sitting on the bench.

How high up the list would Arnie be if we gave in and paid him what he's demanding (reportedly £100k pw)? Gouranga.

I can't get my head around Arnie bashing at every opportunity. Perhpas Gerard fucking Deulofeu could take his place..? Man alive.

Is it any coincidence that since Johnson has been injured we've shipped goals for fun? I don't think Johnson is the issue. I think Ryan is having ongoing back trouble which has significantly hampered his performances. Pieters has also been in and out, so we've had a very inconsistent back four. Throw in the fact Haugaard hasn't lived up to expectations and we've got a very leaky back 5.

Johnson's salary was negotiated and agreed by the club when he signed, presumably at a fair market rate as there were 2 independent parties and both had other options. So at that point he his paid fairly for his predicted ability/performances.
I think most would agree that he has generally exceeded expectations. QED he is probably under rather than over paid
