From page 11, this has to be the greatest match day thread of all time.
In hysterics reading some of the comments.

Do I remember correctly that a poster on here thought there was a conspiracy threory that Bojan and diouf couldn't play together or didn't get on or something?

Positives Bojan looks ridiculously sharp. Diouf looks a threat Adam for 60 minutes was Adam at his best. Shawcross and Butland played 90 minutes. And we beat a side half way through their season who are going to be way fitter than us. Negatives 3-5-2. Irrespective of the result and it being a friendly this isn't for us and the players we have. It exposes them all and is just dire. That's about it really! Positives - fitness and no injuries its a glorified kick about Negatives - your constant fucking whining on threads such as this one. "3 at the back is wank", "this defending needs to stop now". Your knowledge of friendlies seems to be up there with your knowledge of how a transfer actually works.....

Had to turn it off at HT couldn't see a thing. How long did Shawcroft play for? Found this on the Orlando site : Scoring Summary: STK - Mame Diouf 48’ ORL - Hadji Barry (Servando Carrasco) 55’ STK - Bojan 64’ Misconduct Summary: STK - Mame Diouf (Yellow Card) 40’ ORL - Devron GarcÃa (Yellow Card) 54’ STK - Philipp Wollscheid (Yellow Card) 61’ STK - Phil Bardsley (Yellow Card) 70’ Misconduct Summary!

Created lots of scoring opportunities and strikes at goal with many saved by Orlando throwing their bodies in the way. OK by me, much prefer that to shots going high and wide. Negatives: I thought Adam and Diouf were over physical, getting stuck in, and they and Wolly could easily have had red cards in Prem matches. Wolly was very poor IMO, constantly out of position and giving the ball away.

The least wank of the back 3 but came through the 90 minutes untroubled injury wise.

The least wank of the back 3 but came through the 90 minutes untroubled injury wise. He looked a bit rusty then? I can't see the 3 at the back sticking. It would mean sacrificing one of the big names in midfield/upfront.

He tended to drop deep, one of the others would too high and the other one would be nowhere.

Any promising displays? Any vids for the goals? Good goals? Lecygne and Shenton came on for the last 10/15 mins. By that point the game was proper fragmented because of all the changes and we had Joselu and Crouch up front together so what we did, didn't really work. Shenton did a brilliant cross for Joselu though that he volleyed at a passing NASA rocket. And probably somewhere. Both were good goals. Good moves and finishes.

You go and analyse the merits of 3 at the back v 4. Give Mark and his team of experienced staff a bell I'm sure they'll appreciate it....

"Adam and Diouf were just playing their natural game" - agreed. They were more "up for it" than some other players. "neither of made tackles that would have got them sent off imo." - I said "could easily ... in the Prem." not "would have". Adam retaliated after a foul on him and went after the guy to hack him down (that's what I saw on my fuzzy screen) And Diouf had his feet high twice in succession. Closer examination on replay showed it wasn't as bad as it first appeared, but a ref in the Prem. without a replay and >30,000 spectators howling "foul!" could easily have weakened and sent him off, particularly if the "injured" players had made a big meal of it. "As I said, you'd only do this to Wolly if you hated him." - I don't hate Wolly. I have actually blown hot and cold on him* and said on here he is the classic example of "you're only as good as your last game". He had some good games for us last season, but last night I thought he was our worst player by a considerable margin. * I thought he did well when he joined us, thrown into the deep end against Arsenal, then he struggled and I started to doubt, but was prepared to give him time, then he improved and put in some good performances (with the odd mistake/error), but his performances fell away towards the end of the season. IMO. I honestly want him to succeed, as I do all Stoke players and don't hate any of them.

The only ott challenge on the night I thought was the one on Pieters. The rest were just tackles in a good competitive friendly.

Game was more competitive than I expected with both teams being a bit physical. The missed tackle attempt that took out Pieters springs to mind (on the wing). Likewise, Wolly could have gone for his stupid reaction to a shirt tug. All in all it didn't seem that friendly for a friendly, which made better viewing.
Nice finishes for our goals, some good play getting the ball from the middle to the flanks up front. Crosses and final delivery could have been better and I wasn't impressed at all with our defence.
Overall a good work out for the team.
