I'm trying to get a valuation on my programme collection for insurance and a view to selling the collection and was wondering if anyone on here has any contact details for a valuer of programme collections.
I used to collect programmes avidly and dependant on value I might sell up to create space!!
I have all home and away programmes from 1960-2009 apart from 8 homes and 7 always. Also approx 300 friendlies, 250 reserve programmes/sheets, 450 official team sheets, approx 150 youth/minor competitions, 35 testimonials and about 35 non Stoke related games played at the Vic or Brit. There are numerous other Stoke related items.
If anyone has any points of contact for values please could you PM me.
Many thanks for your help.

Have quite a few from the 60s onwards and am guessing a complete set would be more valuable?

If you get the programme from the game when we scored from a corner it's worth 13,000 quid.

If you have the one from Stoke Vs Charlton - 24th Feb 1998 - I'll buy it - I've been looking for it for years! It was my first game when I was 8!

Hi, There's a programme fair on at Clayton soon - details are: www.programmemonthly.com/whatson.php (the website gives a list of up & coming fairs) NORTH STAFFS FAIR Saturday 14th Clayton Community Centre, Clayton , Newcastle-under-Lyme ST5 4BN 10.30-1.00. Admission free (Paul Bailey) Paul Bailey 01782 620480 paulsprogs@hotmail.com (maybe contact him & see if he can either give you a valuation or get someone at the fair to give a valuation? I expect you can't take the collection along unless you have a couple of juggernauts? ) There is also a chap who deals in football programmes who's on Newcastle Market on Thursdays & Stone Market on Saturdays - but, & i guess they all say this, the market is 'down' so maybe don't expect a great price? He did say programmes from the 50's & 60's fetch a bit of money because they are rarer - but later ones are common & so not worth much at all!! Good luck!

Hope I'm not bursting bubbles here, but in my experience, programmes (in the main) aren't worth what you originally paid for them! The internet has opened up the world in terms of hunting down rarities - the price of Wedgewood has dropped through the floor since E-bay kicked off (as an example!)

I don't think they're worth much at all, so little that i put a load of mine out for recycling the other week. Including that Charlton one from 2008, d'oh! what the chances! haha

I've sold some books, newspapers, concert programmes, posters etc at Dominic Winter Auctions. They specialise in printed matter of all sorts and I usually get good prices. The buyer pays the premium on the hammer price. There are loads of other auction houses which specialise in printed stuff. Perhaps worth checking out?
Edit: Most auction houses will give you a free valuation if you email them a list of what you have along with the condition of each item. Your only cost is postage if you choose to go ahead.
