I thought even though the performance was better we were so quiet again , also the amount of early leavers even with the team just 1-0 up seemed very high .
I don't know if anything can be done but a trip to the Brit feels pretty flat these days

Think that's just a common thing with home supporters everywhere in the Prem these days.

Lets cut to the chase, whether the teams performing or not
our support has gone pretty lousy at the Brit thesedays
that, no one can deny
a great shame really.

Maybe we should do what hull city have done and have sections of the ground,
The moaning about the crowd section
The moaning about the leaving early section
The leave early section
The Hughes out section
The Tony pulis section

Complacancy and unreasonable expectation I would say
coupled with some occasionally crazy goings on pitch-side
and also - crap vehicular ground access affecting fans decision making

I must have been in category 3 on your list.
By the time the penalty had been taken there was me, my dad and a girl and her mum.
No staying power.

To be fair, people pay good money let them leave, the thing what fucks me off is when they STAND blocking the exit and stairs/view for other supporters. The stewards need get a fucking backbone and shift the fuckers, or start removing season tickets. After all it is a health and safety risk.

I suppose It's a mixture of things really. The novelty of the prem has well worn off over the seasons Finishing roughly around the same position each season (while quite a feat in itself) leaves fans with the realisation that reastically, that's our lot ambition wise. Poor home form makes the fans anxious Lack of heart and passion from team performance

Because of the dip in form, the fans don't believe in the team, hence the quietness. To see them equalise late on, nearly (but not quite), made me want to put my foot through something. Frustration. Total.

When we first got promoted one of the first things we said was, lets hope that if we stay in the prem for 5+ years our fans don't turn into a fan base like Middlesbrough. Unfortunately we have, but that will happen to most teams when you find another 12000 fans who didnt go when we were shite

Total. Normally that's exactly how I would feel but there just seemed a certain inevitability about it all that made me just think, "typical" as I left and "oh well". Usually it spoils my whole weekend but I just wasn't too arsed in tuth. It's very hard to get totally motivated by a season which has petered out and one which will leave us finishing marooned safely in mid table. When we've got something real to play for, we'll see the Brit rocking again. A good start next season is imperative in my opinion.

As for the getting up / in the way aspect I wholeheartedly agree. If you're going just fucking go and be smart about it. The stewards as you say need a rocket as well.

If I was asked what do you think makes a top supporter of a team, making a noise would not come high on my agenda. Most probably fans up to age twenty five might see it differently. I certainly would say that the majority of fans do not go to the match to sing. Because you don't sing does this make you a poor supporter?

Quite a few empty seats too which I was surprised about. Shit form and a bank holiday weekend. There's not really much to play for and even less hope that we can achieve whatever it is we're playing for. I think crowds usually tail off a bit around this time anyway.

I've often thought that the best atmospheres, regardless of opposition, are where there had been either full blooded challenges or controversy against us early on in the game. The crowd feeds off passion on the pitch, whether that's wilko winning the ball and sending someone into row Z or a quick, committed counter attack. I just think the current atmosphere is a symptom of modern football - an old skool heavy challenge and physical battle on the pitch will always get the crowd going more than a well executed Cruyff turn.

I fail to understand why so called FANS leave early, what do they do with the 10 mins they save,if they rush home to watch TV,do they turn the programme of 10 mins before it finishes,it seems they do not want to see the conclusion of anything. Why walk out when the other team have a penalty, don't they ever think the keeper might bring of a great save.
