Dont think we should be happy about Austria going home or gloating that Arnie hasn't played well. No matter what this tournament somebody will still 99% likely sign him for 12.5m. I would of much preferred him to have scored a few, stood out, and to be a player we would be proud to have said played for us.

It doesn't matter what we think or write on this board, if he wants to leave he will leave and if he wants to stay he will stay. He had a good season for us but not a good euros, so let's see what happens, time will tell .......

I still can't see anyone apart from Leicester being interested of the top 4, and despite them winning the league last year I see it as a sideways move in many ways. Really can't see them being top 4 again next season, and I guess they will lose Kante, Mahrez and maybe Wardy too (could still stay). Those players are almost irreplaceable as I see it. Arnie wouldn't be a bad replacement for Mahrez, but I will be really impressed if Leicester end up above us next season.  |

I don't think it matters whether he's had a bad tournament or not. Realistically, he isn't good enough to go to a very big club any Champions League club will obviously do extensive scouting on targets so they should already know that although he's had a very good season he's still incredibly inconsistent.

I was at the game tonight which reminded me of so many games he's played in a Stoke shirt. He was frustrated for much of the game with a lot of moaning and arm waving. The Austrian supporters are like us, used to his antics.
He's no world beater and I think he'd be well advised to sign a new contract with us and wind his neck in a bit.
All credit to both sets of fans tonight at Stade de France. I think the gate was a tad over 75,000 and I've never been at a game like it. The way in which the fans mixed and got on so well with each other was a breath of fresh air.
Every Icelandic woman I laid eyes on was utterly gorgeous.

In fairness I do not think he has done himself any favours in the Euros. If he was trying to put himself in the shop window then it has not been in Harrod's shop window.
He has failed. Good for us but can't see any top European teams after his signature. On the Euro performances I would offer him a reduced deal.

Not fully, but his negotiating power would have decreased. After a poor tournament Arnie will have fewer 'big' suitors after him and his marketing value will have taken a bashing. Indeed, a lot of the Austrian comments I've seen are of people tearing him to shreds for focussing more on his marketing than on his football. I don't think he'll be going anywhere this summer. Same goes for Shaq. |
