Pejic seems resigned to him going Arnie's keeping to his script... link"I am at Stoke City. I played there my season, have now been there for three years. The team, the coach, the club has brought me back to life," Arnautovic said on Friday at the ÖFB team camp in Switzerland. "I have one more year on my contract. I do not know anything. I have the EUROS and I concentrate fully on it. The rest is my brother, who will manage it all."

No more of this bloody will he, won't he bollocks. We can't be practically held to ransom by one employee.

I suppose he's got nothing to lose waiting for the Euros - unless e gets a really bad injury, which is the only downside for him in waiting until after the Euros.
If he plays well then other clubs will be interested.
If he does not play well and other clubs are not so interested, he'll sign a contract extension with Stoke. This time SCFC might be able to dictate terms more in their favour etc.
So cat & mouse and you can't blame him.
From SCFC point of view if he goes - he goes - like Nzonzi and we replace -Onwards and hopefully UPWARDS

He's got all the cards, it's frustrating because we can't go out and get a replacement in ASAP because we have no idea what his intentions are for the future, even if they don't do well and assuming he won't be on the move until the Euros are done, he's still going to be with the Austria squad until the end of June, that gives us a month to sort the situation out/buy a replacement and get them up to speed
On one hand i don't blame him, on the other it's bloody annoying, he's like a decent looking woman that think she's a 10 going out with mr stability until something better comes along, she doesn't want to rock the boat because he buys her shit but as soon as Mr big bollocks 6-pack comes along she's off

If he were a salesman in my company I'd rather have him performing for me rather than a competitor. I'd try and make it such that I'd be the one to work for. But if he were hell bent on leaving I'd get a replacement PDQ. Or at the very least start looking for another salesman. I wouldn't wait until the day he walked. Damage limitation.

Is he really any different from most players? If the opportunity comes along where you can better yourself club wise financially etc who here wouldnt take it. Seems like a lot around here expect players to be like Pottery folk, once here this is where you stay. As The Eagles sang on Hotel California, " you can check out any time you want but you can never leave" You won't find many one club players now, all expect and want to better themselves. He's not been doing and N'Zonzi has he?

After a red card in the first 5 mins of the Euros, and Austria finishing bottom of Group G, he'll be begging us for a contract extension! Not saying this will happen, ... just hoping that it does!

I think he's off. If he was going to stay he'd have signed by now. Love the guy and his maverick ways but as has happened before there'll be new fans favourites coming in. I do think come next season Bojan, Shaq and Imbula could be like different players plus I'm sure there'll be new quality players coming in that might not be "maverick" but will offer different things that may even be more effective. My only hope is that he doesn't go to a Leicester, West Ham or Liverpool which I would find slightly annoying.

Stoke must not wait to resolve whether Arni is staying or going. It is imperative to act on the assumption he is not going to sign a new contract and go and get a top class winger and someone to replace Wingie (and probably Crouch) who is a reliable goal scorer. That way we are covered whether Arni stays or goes.
I'm sure PC and the board are prepared to spend big if necessary (Yamolenko, Lukaku). If Arni stays then it is a double whammy for us and players have to earn their place in the side, injuries are covered, and players can be rested if necessary. (I'm thinking Shaqiri.)
It would be a mistake to wait for Arni to leave or delay till the end of the window as it makes it less attractive for the top class players we want to sign for us if they believe Stoke are losing their best player.

Sorry, I don't understand your comment. I'm saying go and get player whether Arni signs or nor not. If he does sign, great we have a stronger squad and more wing options; Shaqiri seems to be nursing hamstrings most of the time. I'm not saying he has to leave, if we sign someone else. What is "not good" is letting a player/agent (and other players watching the situation) think they can string the club along.

Clubs already know who they want to purchase. Of course, they have long lists and dossiers on players; but getting and wanting are miles apart.

Lukaku?Yes, why not? We need a reliable goal scorer; he has got 25 goals this season (48 apps) and wants out of Everton. I think he should score a few fed by Arni, Bojan, and Shaquiri shouldn't he? Whether we can afford him is up to PC, and whether he would come to Stoke is up to him.
