Tuncay... a popular figure among Stoke fans Comments (0)
TUNCAY is the latest Stoke City favourite to toss his name into the hat for Andy Wilkinson's testimonial.
Now 34, Tuncay has been playing for Indian Premier League outfit FC Pune where his team-mates include former Stoke keeper Steve Simonsen.
The former Turkish international joined Stoke from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2009 and went on to make 55 appearances in 18 months at the Britannia.
He joins an ever-lengthening list of vintage Stoke stars signing up to pay tribute to Wilko in his testimonial on Monday May 16 (7.45pm).
The likes of Ricardo Fuller, Mark Stein, James Beattie, Rory Delap, Liam Lawrence and Danny Higginbotham are among those signing up for the game.
And many still playing, like Peter Crouch and Asmir Begovic, have also pledged their time.

The taxi driver had better keep his engine running, ready for when he gets substituted.
On a side note, I thought that at first, this was billed as a past XI vs a current XI. Looking at the number of players signed up, it looks more like two teams of past players.

Cynically going for the BiancoRossi coin. The Turkish magician is making a return. A genuine cult figure. The epitome of flair.

An absolute icon. All you have to do is check out his goals per game ratio, waves to the fans and chasing lost causes
